Volume 28 - 14 September 2017 NOTRE DAME NEWS FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE-LONG LEARNING FROM THE PRINCIPAL THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK Dear Parents and Staff Our reflec>on today relates to the newsleDer in a number of ways. It is a reminder that we are never alone on our journey through life and is par>cularly poignant today as we celebrate R U OK Day. This day is about being aware of those around us and percep>ve of their needs. R U OK is based upon 4 steps: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen Without Judgement 3. Encourage Ac>on 4. Check In Perhaps just by asking someone R U OK we may create an opportunity for them to realize that they aren’t alone. CONFIRMATION Last Saturday evening, during a beau>ful Mass, many of our Year Sixes received the Sacrament of Confirma>on. In receiving the Sacrament they were Sealed with the Seven Gi^s of the Holy Spirit. These Gi^s act as a guide for the students on their Spiritual journey but, as in our reflec>on, there will be >mes when they need our support and we will need to carry them as they are challenged by the many distrac>ons from our Faith that the world today presents. Please con>nue to pray for the newly Confirmed candidates and their families. Many thanks to Fr Quynh, the children in the choir whose singing made the evening even more special and to the Teachers who ensured that the students were so well prepared. The students were, and con>nue to be, a credit to their families and our school.

THANK YOU The P&F would like to extend a sincere thank you for the show of support we received at the school’s fundraising event Bogan Bingo held at the Belmont Sports and Recreation Club on 2 September. Attended by 210 flanny clad parents, teachers and friends, the event was so much fun with fantastic entertainment by our Bogan Bingo hosts, a wonderful collection of silent auction items, an abundance of awesome hampers and prizes on offer and plenty of laughter to be had.

Together with your support we’ve raised approximately $7,000 which will go towards the school library upgrade.

A special thanks goes out to all of our generous sponsors:
