beginning at 5:30 p.m. atthe Glasgow Civic Center. Terewill be
food, music, live & silentauctions, and everyone is invitedto
attend. In addition to farming, Ronhas worked for Valley
County,blading, mowing and plowingsnow for the last 30-plus
years.
Working with youth and coaching
basketball have been among hismany passsions. He has spent
over20 years coaching both girls andboys basketball, with his
LustreLions boys team taking the DistrictChampionship this past
year. In addition to coaching, hehas taught Sunday School andbeen
an Assistant Leader at hislocal Mennonite church. He
With the extreme cold that settled in this week, steam has
been boiling off Fort Peck Reservoir (go up on Hiway 2 East
and you can see the crowds being created). While the cold
isnt appreciated, it is a beautiful sight to see, and the
highway
getting out there is pretty good once you get past the Milk
River Bridge. You may want to take the tour for yourself.

Letter to the BuzzHELP Animals Have No Voice A story in the 11/5
edition of the Glasgow Courierparticularly disturbed me.
On 10/29, a call to law enforcement about two dogstied at the
Fort Peck landfill and the outcome was that
someone shot the two dogs.About 1/3 of the calls to law
enforcement, city and
county, concern dogs loose dogs, barking dogs, bitingdogs, etc.
Tis is unacceptable and a waste of law officerstime. Spay and
neuter your pets to curb overpopulationand be responsible pet
owners by controlling them andnot allowing them to be a danger or
nuisance to others.
And then there are the people who think that theanswer to their
pets is to drive them to the country anddump them off. Really,
People, what are you thinkingwhen you do this?? Te countryside is
not Rainbow
Brite land. Tese animals will starve to death or betrapped,
poisoned, shot or killed by predators!! My hope is that this
troubling story and my letterwill bring animal advocates to the
table along with lawofficers and city and county officials to
strategize, comeup with some guidelines and programs to follow.
Animals have no voice. Caring, compassionatehumans must step up

has been an Athletic Director, Served many years onNorVal board
even as President, bus driver, carpenter,and has tried his hand at
many other jobs and hobbies.You can find Ron in charge of something
at most anycommunity function. Both Ron and Jeri have been
struggling with healthissues in the last few years, Ron with his
liver disease and
Jeri with Multiple Sclerosis. Tey have been a great help toeach
other. Both are ready to tackle the liver transplant andrecovery
process in the months to come with the help oftheir friends,
family, and willing donors.Ron was diagnosed with a liver auto
immune diseasePrimary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) 9 years ago.
Teonly treatment is a liver transplant. It has progressed tothe
point where a liver transplant is now necessary. Ronhas been seeing
transplant surgeons at the University ofWashington Medical Center
in Seattle, Washington. Tesymptoms of PSC have required Ron to be
medevacedto Seattle twice since Easter 2014 to treat severe
cellulitis.Since Seattle does not use living donors for liver
transplants,Ron is looking to transfer his continuing testing to
MayoClinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where they will do livingdonor
transplants. Tere is a severe shortage of liver organsnationwide.
Roughly 1,800 hopeful liver recipients passedaway waiting for a
liver last year.
Te benefit funds will be used to cover the continuingcosts of
transportation for further evaluation of a possibletransplant.
Funds will also be used for the match of a
living donor, since insurances do not cover the procedure

expenses (approximately $80,000)Due to Ron having to be close to
the transplant facilityfor up to three months prior to transplant,
donationswould go toward covering Cobra insurance and
livingexpenses because of the possibility of unemployment. For
