– Image – includes everything on the hard drive: boot record, partitions, OS, programs, data files.
– Clone – a copy of every sector on the disk, including those not used.

• Signs that a website uses encryption & is secure:– Closed lock in the address bar, to left or right of URL– URL begins with https://– It has a certificate from one of about 100 certificate
authorities recognized by the major browsers.
• The browser checks the certificate:– web site address matches the address on the certificate.– the certificate is signed by a trusted certificate authority.– today’s date is within the certificate’s period of validity.

• To view the certificate and check for yourself before you log in, click the lock icon and select “View certificates” or “Certificate information”.
• Certificate error causes – – Name on certificate does not match site name.– Certificate has expired (issued for 1 or 2 years).– Certificate authority’s name is not a valid one.– The date on your computer is incorrect.– Browser’s list of certificate authorities is outdated.

• Open photo in Picasa’s Edit mode and click “Upload to Google Photos” button.
• Use the Chrome browser, to go to Google+: (plus.google.com) and click Profile in the left column and the Photos tab. Select the photo you shared, and above it click Edit. On the right click “Selective”.
• Click the icon above “Add control Point” and click center of an area to be modified.

• Drag the double arrow icon to control the size of area to be modified.
• Drag the B, C or S icon to control the amount of change to Brightness, Contrast or Saturation. Note the effect is feathered at the edges. Click “Done Editing” when finished.
• To download photo back to your computer, click “More”, “Download Photo”, which puts it (inconveniently) in your Download folder.

• Acquiring Templates for LibreOffice Calc:– In Calc, click File, New, Templates, click icon at
upper right, “Get more templates …”. – In the browser window, click Templates tab. Select
from categories on right, e.g. “Budget Templates”, then select individual template. Click download link and save file, then run it.
– Back in Calc, click File, Templates, Save as Template.
