President’s Report

This November we have the oppor-

tunity to shape the future. We will be

voting for candidates and initiatives that

will affect our Nation, State, County, and

our Club.

I would encourage all members to

understand the issues and candidates

and please exercise your right to vote.

I formed a nomination committee

and those members will be searching for

candidates for open Board of Directors

positions. This November Members are

able to nominate candidates at the

General Membership meeting from the

floor. Once again please exercise you

right to vote.

I continue to praise the RSO’s and

range volunteers for the job they did at

this year’s Hunter Sight In. We had a

record numbers of shooters and there

were very few problems. There were

days during sight in where more than

150 shooters were able to use our

Public Ranges. Days like that put a lot

of pressure on all of our employees and

volunteers.

I would like to wish all a Happy

Thanksgiving. I hope everyone is able to

celebrate with friends and family the

bounty we enjoy in this country.

Gary Higginbotham, President

MOTION TO RAISE MEMBERSHIP DUES

After consideration by the members present at the September 7th, 2016 Membership meeting, a mo-

tion to amend Article III, Section 2, Paragraph A of the TSC Bylaws was made.

The Article presently reads:

(a) Annual Members’ dues shall be One Hundred Dollars per year plus any applicable fee fixed in

these Bylaws or in the Standing Rules, payable in advance on or before the last day of the anni-

versary month of the member’s application. (Amended 07-01-79; 02-02-86; 09-01-94)

———————————————————————————————————————————————

The Article will be amended to read:

(a) Annual Member’s dues shall be One Hundred Fifty Dollars per year plus any applicable fee fixed

in these Bylaws or in the Standing Rules, payable in advance on or before the last day of the an-

niversary month of the member’s application. (Amended 07-01-79; 02-02-86; 09-01-94)

———————————————————————————————————————————————

The rules for amending a portion of the Bylaws are as follows:

ARTICLE XVI: AMENDMENTS

Amendments to these Bylaws may be made at any meeting of the members except the Annual

Meeting by two-thirds vote, provided however, that

i.) notice thereof shall have been given at a previous meeting of the Club;

ii.) the proposed amendment shall have been submitted in writing to all members eligible to vote

on such matters ten days in advance of the meeting at which voting is to take place, and;

Iii.) the amendment shall have gone to committee for study and all areas of these Bylaws and the

Standing Rules affected by the proposed amendment shall be coordinated with the amend-

ment proposed and shall be in the written notice also.

———————————————————————————————————————————————

Therefore, the vote to amend the Bylaws raising the annual membership dues to $150.00 will come to

a vote at the meeting October 5th, 2016. Discussion on the subject will be open at that time.

Thank you,
