EB I-66 EMERGENCY ‘X’ LANE CLOSURE THRU WED. A.M. RUSHClosure needed between Nutley Street and I-495 for emergency roadway repair

VIENNA –. Motorists on eastbound I-66 can expect major delays during the morning rush tomorrow as the right shoulder ‘X’ lane between Nutley Street and I-495 will be closed as repairs are made to the concrete foundation of an overhead gantry for the under-construction Active Traffic Management System, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

In addition to the ‘X’ lane, the right regular lane of eastbound I-66 between Nutley Street and I-495 will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday. The regular lane will reopen before 5 a.m. Wednesday. The ‘X’ lane is likely to remain closed through the morning rush.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead and allow extra time for their morning commutes.

The $38.6 million Active Traffic Management System is scheduled for completion in the fall. For more information, view the project page.
