These types of schemes provide a more flexible procurement approach to meeting the government’s sourcing requirements. The schemes aim to reduce red tape and streamline the application process for agencies who wish to source and engage external expertise. It allows for suppliers to register for a range of business opportunities with government agencies that match their expertise and experience. Some prequalification schemes have the advantage of not ‘locking-up’ a market, with new suppliers being able to apply at any time for most schemes. Registering for NSW eTendering Registering with NSW eTendering allows you to receive notification of, and access to respond to a wide range of NSW Government opportunities including tender opportunities. The NSW Government has established a range of prequalification schemes through which suppliers (vendors) can apply to qualify for business opportunities with NSW Government. These types of schemes provide a more flexible procurement approach to meeting the government’s sourcing requirements.

When registering for the first time you will be required to complete several fields including your email address and creating your own password.

Once registered, you are eligible to receive email notifications of upcoming opportunities as they arise, such as Tenders and Prequalification Schemes, and to quickly respond to the opportunities posted on NSW eTendering. You can also see current and closed offers, as well as details of awarded contracts over $150,000 in value.

Applying for SchemesSuppliers can apply to become pre-approved on several prequalification schemes to undertake work for the NSW Government. For each individual scheme, guidelines and rules have been established to manage the respective risks. As risk increases, so does the level of assessment criteria.

To apply for a scheme, select the Tenders & Scheme drop-down from the top menu and then select Schemes.

Find the scheme to be applied for from the available list and click Start Application.

NSW eQuote – Register and apply for prequalification schemes

Suppliers will be required to log in using their registered username and password.

Each scheme will require information to be provided through an online form or questionnaire. Suppliers will be required to upload any required certification, identify the capabilities that the business is able to provide, and pre-agree the standard terms and conditions. The information required will vary from scheme to scheme, so please ensure that all available information is read thoroughly as part of the application process.

Once all the information has been provided, click Submit Application.

The application will then go through an approval process and suppliers are notified of the outcome.

Once accepted onto a scheme, suppliers are eligible to be invited to opportunities by agency buyers. If they are invited and subsequently selected, the activity will be conducted under the terms and conditions they signed up to under the scheme.
