NU and SIT will each issue a supporting letter for students to apply for student visitor visas for entrance to the UK.
Students should prepare a folder with the following documents: 1.NU and SIT support letter2.3 months Certificate for Financial Resources 3.Copy of confirmed return ticket 4.Travel insurance
A Certificate of Financial Resources* is to be shown as financial proof that you are able to support yourself through your stay in the UK.
*Document could be any of the following, depending on country requirements and nationality of passports.
1) Bank Letter giving information on the account holder and the amount available (signed by bank manager).
2) Bank Statement (Original bank statement printed on bank’s letter head showing account details & balance amount. This cannot be an online statement.)

Students need to apply for their visas in person at The Corporate office at Robinson Road. Students should ensure that they get their visas before leaving Singapore. Students are encouraged to apply early as time taken for application of visas varies.

1. NU Smartcard (Existing card,given at point of registration)
To be carried with you at all times on the NU campus. Students who forget their Smartcard are required to get a replacement from Robinson Library for £10.
2. Photocopy of your Passport3. Identity Card4.Supporting letters for student

proof that you are able tosupport yourself in the UK.

SIT OIP Form will be available after 1 April 2012.
Students are to submit the SIT OIP Form located in the Student Portal by 30 April 2012
Note: Submit hard copy of indemnity form to the NU admin office

Overseas Student Programme (OSP) loan

Key eligibility criteria: All students who are Singapore citizens (SC) and are enrolled in full-time undergraduate courses can apply for OSP loan subject to approvals; This loan requires a guarantor and he/she must be SC of at least 21 years and not exceed 60 years of age. Cannot be full-time student or bankrupt and must be gainfully employed; Entitled to only 1 OSP loan during his/her course of study in SIT; Must not concurrently hold another loan, bursary, scholarship etc that covers full costs of OSP; Maximum repayment period is 5 years. Interest will only start accruing from the third month after graduation and instalment payments of at least $100 per month will start upon
employment.
