Made in AustraliaThrough the relationship between Fagerhult and ELA, there is a commitment to ongoing manufacturing investment at our Melbourne facility.

We believe the concept of ‘Made in Australia’ is a principal upon which ELA can build for it’s long-term success. To communicate this, we have been holding factory tours for members of the wider lighting industry to showcase our investment, not just in manufacturing but in engineering and product development.

One of the strategies behind heavy investment in our factory and operations in Melbourne is to marry our machines and capabilities to those of the other members within the global Fagerhult Group. The goal being to produce a global range locally.

The investment in ELA, is also an investment in the Australian economy. Through the Global Financial Crisis we are proud to have experienced a period of growth both in employee numbers and sales. We are now able to take a global product and if needs be, develop solutions specific to the diverse Australian market and its customers. One of our major priority is our on-time delivery performance. We can react to changes in the local market whether it be a technological advance, a market surge

towards a particular product, or a reaction to the changing Australian climate, with much greater efficiency.

The ability to manage the whole process allows for better quality control, better customisation, better production times, all of which provide better customer satisfaction backed by the assurance of local support.Our move to the new manufacturing facility at Melbourne Airport, gave us the opportunity to invest in a world class, environmentally friendly paintline.

This closed-circuit, state-of-the-art paintline incorporating ITW GEMA technologies, was selected specifically after consultation between Fagerhult, several suppliers and ourselves. It was important that whatever option we chose, it was in-line with Fagerhult recommendations and also had similar painting capacities that exist at other facilities within the group. Manufacturing Globalisation practices ensure we have the ability to produce a luminaire in Australia, to identical specifications as one produced in a factory in Sweden, China, Germany or England.

Some of the important features of this paintline are as follows:

+ An environmentally friendly, closed system powdercoating operation that exceeds all relevant Australian standards.

+ A seamless and fully automated powdercoating process, where raw luminaire components are degreased and treated, dried, coated and baked before being prepared for assembly.

+ Incorporated into the water-based, degreasing cycle is an eco-seal application. Through a three-stage procedure, two parts of eco-seal are combined to give all of our luminaires an additional rust-inhibiting seal.

+ Eco-sealing is essential as we are rustproofing the entire luminaire including all its raw edges. We see this as value-added benefit to the end-user when you begin to compare the quality of our fittings and pricing with competitors.

VERTEX CRI 80+

The combination of a V-shaped reflector and Delta Prism Panel diffuser have been used to mask the harsh micro points of LEDs.

The Vertex is positioned as the ideal solution for office and general lighting with an efficacy of up to 123lm/W (1500mm x 300mm CRI80 option)

The electronic driver is mounted to the rear of the luminaire, in an isolated thermal chamber. By separating the driver, the LEDs within the luminaire are kept at their lowest possible operating temperature. This ensures that the Vertex can offer the longest possible lifetime of its LED components. Lifetime data can be seen in the lumen maintenance table opposite.
