The quality design and finish was matched by it’s features and usability, we were very impressed with it and the company directors that travelled down from Denmark to meet with us for the day.

Thoughts

Words of Wisdom …….

November 2010

Barx Blog – See Web site front page

October saw me traveling to England and Germany, where I had time to meet with family, old friends and industry partners. These meetings were very enjoyable and also reminded me how important the networks we have formed over many years are, for both our company and the companies we partner with and supply product and services to.

I spent a evening with Peter Wright, chairman of Supertrucks in St Helens. We had the chance to share our views and war stories of survival over the past two years. We also talked in depth about how our two companies are market leaders and how you, the industry has pushed us to be innovative.

The week after we met, Peter travelled to London to collect an award for being a leading truck manufacture, their award was for innovation in design in a super low chassis. It is great that even though we are on opposite sides of the world our companies are driven by the same passion, Innovation!

On the Monday I visited Supertrucks factory to meet with the management team, again our discussions were how we can share more innovations to help both our company's customers reduce rework and costs. I look forward to continuing our relationship with such an innovative and customer focused company.

As we have shown on the front page, in Germany we meet with many other leading manufactures, these companies are looking forward to working with The Glass Racking Company to bring their site and factory handling products to our markets.

This months weekly blogs include :

October 4 – Safety Arms

October 11 – Curry and Rice

October 18 – Charlies Rifle

October 25 – Evolutionary Design

Another product we were shown was used for transporting heavy loads around yards, we now have access to a very useful and powerful motorised trolley which will allow us to design many different glass transport frames that can be fitted to this trolley. Please let us know if you have use for this trolley, and what size frame you would like to be fitted to it.

Glass Retaining Safety Arms

Try Glazing that!

This is the entranceway to the Apple store in Shanghai shown from the outside and the inside. Apple has made circular glass entranceways a feature on several of its new high profile stores and locations. We think they’re neat!

Earthquake damage in glass factories

This photograph shows typical glass damage experienced in the Christchurch earthquakes of September 2010. A pack of glass has fallen from a freefall onto a cutting table. In most instances the weight of glass crushed the tables castors, bent the top of the table, and bent the structure supporting the table top.

Its near impossible to fix bent cutting tables so that they have a 100% flat surface, as required for cutting tables. Tables with fallen packs on them like this were typically replaced.

We supply a range of safety arms for securing glass and window loads onto trolleys and storage systems. The purpose of the safety arms is to stop the load from starting to fall – to stop the load from gaining momentum.

The design of our safety arms allows them to be lightweight, easy to use, and inexpensive. The key benefit of safety arms is health and safety, with additional benefits for reduced damage and breakages to product.

Safety arms can be retrofitted to existing equipment. Call Ian or Bryn now.!
