II. THEORY

The primary goals of conservation and protection of coastal wetlands and mangrove forests are to increase public awareness and education about these habitats, provide designated conservation areas, and integrate coastal wetland/mangrove restoration into current coastal planning. National governments have not been able to regulate development and industry effectively to save many wetlands, and current developments are not adequately planned and implemented to provide conservation, restoration, and mitigation measures for nearby wetlands. Meanwhile, stricter local governmental regulations and enforcement protecting mangroves are necessary. Also, involvement of local communities in sustainably managing and protecting their coastal resource base, including the nearby mangrove forests, is essential.

IV. ANALYSIS

Discussion

1. Mangrove forest serve as natural rubbish trap, where when the rising tide bring in the rubbish, while descending tide will trap the rubbish.

2. Major of the rubbish are man made.3. Seedling of young sapling is using the fruits of

mangrove trees. The season of fruiting is on June to August.

4. Size of poly bag determine the duration of young sapling to grow before transfer to planting site. PIFWA is using 10” x 8” polybag and it is allow to be grow 6 – 12 months before move to planting site.

V. CONCLUSION

1. 50kg of rubbish cleared from mangrove forest.2. 100 trees had been planted and seeded.3. Previous planted trees had made good and rate of survive

had recorded.
