Observing Systems 'Lego' and Congruent in Development of Prambanan Temple

Have you ever noticed how the Prambanan temple built? Without the use of cement and eggs as glue? When we look closely, the stone ruins of the temples at Prambanan, it is seen no trace of adhesive attached to the stones, it means, is true if the temple was built without using cement and eggs as an adhesive?. If the anwer is yes, So with what was the temple built?

If we consider one of the stone temples that lay in front of the entrance of other temples, especially the foundation stone that many scattered around the temple, like the image below.

Figure 1. Two stone temples of Prambanan. The only visible holes, and                    The other one slightly protruding above the surface.

So what is the connection between the holes which are on one stone, with a more prominent rock just above the surface?

The relationship between the existing holes in the rock that stands out, it appeared highly related, because the bulge at the top of the rock, was associated with an existing hole on the other stone, so that the two rocks can be related to the strong. This concept is exactly like the concept of Lego models which often played by kids when they want to make building a house, hotel or other office.

The way to connect components one another in a "lego" system is called Applied Laktan, starting with how the relationship "laying on", then evolved into "Biting each other”, the installation process is possible without the support / auxiliary support such as cement.

From this brief observation, we can see the mathematical concepts used by the Syalendra dynasty in the making of this Prambanan temple, the concept is congruent concept, that is on one stone making hole, connected with another rock outcrop so that they can be interwoven.

Holes in the rock, of course, congruent with a bulge on the other stone, so that the two stones may be bound, and most of the existing form is rectangular, perhaps this form to a form easily used as the foundation. From this linkage, the temple can be erected, and the concept is also used in the construction of the temple stairs, so that the

temple stairs does not shift until now, even though , the temple has aged for thousand years.

From these discussions, it can be concluded at that time they already know the concept congruent in the construction of the temple, and this could be said of Indonesia also has ancient mathematics, but unfortunately no one documenting it. (Mqz)
