Students Walk the Talk - Express Solidarity for Dubai Cares Walk for Education 2019 A three kilometer walk which aimed to raise awareness about the importance of providing underprivileged children with access to quality education marked the 10th anniversary celebrations of Dubai Cares. Students, parents and teachers turned up in large numbers to show their solidarity to the cause, on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Dubai Creek Park. This year’s walk witnessed the massive participation of 15,000 individuals from different ages and nationalities, who took 4,000 steps, thus uniting in spirit with millions of children in developing countries who have to walk long distances every day to get to school. Through this initiative, Dubai Cares is rallying the community to help reduce the burden of this journey and make education accessible for all. The Walk for Education 2019 was the collaborative effort of the Dubai Government and the community to highlight that education is the fundamental right of all children, and that education is the only way to secure a just and equitable society. The Much Appreciated Annual Days at Delhi Private School Dubai The school owes a huge debt of gratitude to our visionary Principal and Director Ms. Rashmi Nandkeolyar who ensures that today’s children are prepared for tomorrow’s demands. Our Principal envisions the powerful themes for all the Annual Days that are aimed at inculcating values and attitudes in children that are required for living in peace and harmony as responsible global citizens of the 21st century. Senior School Annual Day Highlighting the theme: Global High Five The Multidisciplinary Annual Day for grades IX and XI on 13 December was a wonderful celebration of events to highlight the year’s theme of global High Five. Our beloved mentor and guiding light the Managing Director, Delhi Private School Dubai Mr. D. C. Kothari honored the event as the Chief Guest. The Annual Day gave full scope to our budding scientists, entrepreneurs, dramatists, innovators, artists, math wizards, accountants, musicians, singers and quiz maestros to showcase their talent. The day, and all the activities delved into pertinent issues in our world today. Delhi Private School Dubai has the knack of exploring global themes and finding relevant solutions, thus ensuring that our students are prepared to enter and excel in the real world. The Annual Day was all about embracing Global Identity, Artificial Intelligence, Diversity, and World Population. The theme of Global High Five has been inculcated in our curriculum throughout the academic year – through enriching coursework, presentations, and projects. Many problems plague today’s world, from pollution to war, lack of human rights to discrimination, inequality to oppression. Each student at Delhi Private School Dubai has hence been made to espouse

the social responsibility of conflict resolution and problem solving, doing their best to become pioneers of the 21st century. The Annual Day had a total of 9 competitive events for grades IX and XI which were: Wiz@Quiz, Muse’s Mantra, Math-e-Mania, Ennovation, Hues, Goonj, A-count, Orchestra, and Showstopper All the events explored the theme of Global High-Five in their own unique way. Our students, through the medium of artwork, plays and presentations, delved into topics such as global integrity, happiness and diversity. The evening began with a spellbinding musical presentation by the talented vocalists and orchestra. The much awaited, spectacular and scintillating performances by our showstoppers, was the grand culmination of the major celebration. It brought together dramatics, style, innovation, creativity, aesthetics, color, magic and imagination in the most stupendous way possible. The performances were divided into two - Poetry and Dance. Our students explored three pertinent issues of the 21st century - Population, Diversity, and Artificial Intelligence. Neither too much, nor too less of any of these makes for an ideal world. The performers demonstrated the importance of striking a balance in order to create a stable and sustainable world order. Each theme was represented by performers who highlighted various perspectives of the same through poetry and dance. Both the poetry and the dances were judged separately. Most of the poems are self-composed by our budding poets. The first team of poets and dancers, presented their take on the theme of AI. Diversity teaches us how innately similar we are. The next group delved into the theme of diversity. Overpopulation is a serious threat to our Earth. This population explosion has given birth to the eminent threats of pollution, unsustainable consumption patterns, social conflict, climate change, and a loss of nature. On the other hand, a world with too less a population, would be no short of chaotic in its own way. The third team offered their perspective on this topic. The multidisciplinary Annual Day focused on imparting a skill-set necessary for the 21st century youth. Manthan - The Middle School Carnival Highlighting the Theme Global High – Five The Middle School Annual Day ‘Manthan’ was conducted on 8 December 2018 for grades VI, VII and VIII.
