Ms. Ward, a social worker, makes it her mission to track down the wily teen, who manages to stay a step ahead. October 21, Danny O’Donnell Concert Songs of Faith Danny O’Donnell is an Irish singer and cultural icon in his home country of Ireland. After rising to public attention in 1983, he has since become a household name in Ireland and Britain, and then with worldwide recognition. O'Donnell's music has been described as a mix of country and Irish- folk music. This evening is composed of songs of faith. October 28, Movie: Hear No Evil Shelby Carson is a deaf high school student. One day while playing at school, Shelby is struck by lightning and has her hearing restored suddenly. Her family finds out that she can hear more than just people; she talks to and hears God speaking. She can sense things happening beyond what you can see. 1 hr. 21 minutes. Just in time for Halloween, the residents of Sleepy Hollow believed the Headless Horseman to have been a Hessian. The Hessians were soldiers from Northern Germany who were rented from German princes to fight for the British in the Revolutionary War. Although six German princes rented out their troops to the British, the Hessians from Hesse-Kassel in Hesse were the most numerous and most important, making up about 17,000 of the 30,000 total troops sent. Join historical re-enactor and lecturer Michael Jessberger for a program on one of America’s oldest short stories based on real events that took place in the Hudson Valley of New York during the American Revolution.

Happy fall y’all, We are excited to dive into some fall fun this month! We will work on a scarecrow craft, decorate pumpkins, reminisce about cool, crisp autumn days, make pumpkin dog bones for the Corner Store, as well as, bake an apple cider doughnut cake to taste. Dining services will prepare a delicious Oktoberfest meal on October 30. We will have a chance to vote on the decorated pumpkins and play some pumpkin games that afternoon in the Summit View Auditorium. Seth will share his musical talents with us, and Pam is back to strengthen us with some Tai Chi. We will continue to spend time outside in the courtyard as long as we can to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Skype calls are still offered for anyone who would like to connect with loved ones. ONLINE AUCTION - THANK YOU! The Fund Development Team would like to thank you for your support of the Online Auction that was held in August. We are so grateful for your donations, bids and sharing of the auction links. Donations amounted to $7,914.84 after expenses, and these net proceeds will benefit the Agape Fund, which is the benevolent care fund that provides for the residents of Souderton Mennonite Homes who can no longer afford to pay the full cost of their care. THE CAMPAIGN FOR LIVING BRANCHES – RESIDENTIAL LIVING UPDATE We recently introduced the new Capital Campaign - Rooted in Love. Growing Together. to the RL campus representatives and other invited campus leaders at Dock Woods and Souderton Mennonite Homes (SMH). We are preparing for the roll-out of the campaign to the RL residents and staff at both Dock Woods and SMH, and we asked for recommendations about the best ways to communicate the campaign information to the residents. We received very helpful feedback from both groups. The addition of private rooms for the healthcare centers at Dock Woods and SMH, and the memory care center at SMH, is the largest part of the campaign, and there is also an initiative for additional support for the Creative Arts Therapy Fund. Watch for more information in the coming weeks!

FRIENDS OF THE SHARING FUND DINNER The 34th Annual Friends of the Sharing Fund Dinner will be postponed until 2022.
