Modification for Fbus cable BB5 fbus cable in the market doesn't suitable with JAF box specification nowdays

1. still have 9v battery connector though this no needed anymore. so you have to remember, never ever try flashing bb5 with battery 9v.

Page 2: Odification for Fbus Cable

2. doesn't have resistor in BSI line

3. have only 3,3k resitor in BSI line

----------------------

please modify your BB5 fbus cable in order to:

1. put the phone in local / test mode (for showing info, making full factory, format user area, etc)

2. Avoid jaf software failed put the phone in local/test mode after succesfull flashing for showing info

how to modify :

add / change resistor in BSI line to 5,1kfor few type such as n80, you need to add / change the resistor to 7,5k

also check resistor between GND and BSI, should be 68k

use 10 k for all model. work for me. more easy to found 10k on nokia 3210,thanks

I modified the Fbus cable so now INF button works but when I press CHK it gives me an error:

Booting phone...Error sync the phone...

What could be wrong?

ahmed74 You can serie connect the resistors, get a 1.8K+3.3K=5.1K or just get a 8.2K, that is what I use.

EDIT:I changed the 68K to a 56K and then it worked to use the CHKI then get:

Does this look correct?

So for a Nokia N73 I used a 56K between GND and BSI.On BSI I used a 8.2K All work OK!

On all cables that I have modified i had to use a 56K between GND and BSI, 68K didnt work. On BSI I'm using a 8.2K, 5.1K didnt work for me. If you don't get it to work just experiment with the values and see what will work for you!

I use these resistors in modification of fbus cable.for nokia 3250.In bsi line I have no 68k resistor, there fore I use two 33k resistor. In vcc line I have no 7.5k resistor and therefore I use 8.2 k resistor and mission completed successfully

"Error sync the phone..."

This problem indicates that 68k resistor between BSI AND GND is not functioning due to(possible reasons):

-Resistor 2B replaced

Page 7: Odification for Fbus Cable

-Resistor 2B soldered, ensure proper wet joint

-And/or cable adapters pin not making proper contact with mobile PCB,ensure pins are spring loaded and are free.

Particularly pls pay attention to the cable soldering points, and pins.Attached is FBus Schematic to assist you.

Simplest crieteria to Unlock BB5 phones with cinek

make this thing criteria for BB5 No TP unlocking.before u do anything with cinek

- U must Connect Phone with Fbus Cable- Open JAF soft on the BB5 tab- Don't Select flash files and hit flash- if it can make PM & RPL backup then go for Cinek- if JAF Can't make PM or RPL backup then 1st CHECK ur Fbus Cable and Modify it.

10k value Resister on BSI is Best value for almost all BB5.

Happy Unlocking

mean instead of 5.1k and 7.5k we better change to 10k?

- U must Connect Phone with Fbus Cable

Happy Unlocking ;

no, values of resistors depend of set, but, more important is resistor in BSI-GND line, must be 68Kohm,and many cables have 3.9Kohm.

And ,propietary test of cables is when open JAF,and chek BB5,then u need to rcw good and full output when press INF,and CHK button. For fine tuning,u can test phone function,of respond on MODE reading and testing, like change LOCAL mode to TEST mode, and back.

Yes,but that button don't explain how to repare fault,if phone is not connected .

no,because for reading phone is in one mode, and wor writing in other, and could be combination that U can made backup, but can unlock phone, and fault coud be cable,or not suported version.

For that is inplemented chk button in BB king soft, coz in one test U can found booth answers.

measured the amount of resistance between the third PIN and BSI, should have these values

For those whose jaf box lights only on pw + Usb (red + green light) or can flash only DCT-4.

Solution: Download POTATO_JAFBox_Updater_V2.exe (Potato jaf box firmware writter

v2.0 - Mxkey research lab indonesia).

Write jaf box with FW 01.B2 (last option which says not recommended).

Open your jaf software

Go to p-key

Update your box firmware. Enjoy

U have cable problem..ur fone must be in test or local mode for sucess unlock..br

Ok , I opened FBUS cable for 6233 . I saw in it 5k resistor, I replacd it with 10k but I still not getting "RX" blue light. Still getting FBUS error on BB5king_V105. Pleas can someone with more experienc stp in and help us to resolve? Or should we just go buy a new cable?

interface problem make sure your phone is in testmode phase..

try to use 10 to 12k bsi resistor...

or try to use UFSx box..

then post logs..

BR it have same pinouts as JAF UFS got. you just need to modify 7 pin cable. such as 1 main point, For 6233 6234 connect 7.5 k transistor between GND & BSI of the cable simply. it stables power for phone while flash.
