Tree Planted on Arbor DaySustainability Ambassadors worked hard this year toproduce a campus tree plan, assemble a campustree committee, and plan an Arbor Day celebration, all in order to prepare CWRU to qualify as a TreeCampus USA. The early Arbor Day celebrationwished a Happy Birthday to the oldest tree oncampus on Friday, March 31st (Arbor Day was April28th) in the Thwing Atrium (inside due to weather). The week preceding the event, studentsdocumented their love of trees on reclaimed paperleaves which were made into an art piece.Participants played tree-via (tree trivia!) and enjoyedcupcakes before a new tree, a beautiful sugarmaple, was planted near the fountain "Merging." Two sustainability ambassadors, Kayla and Claire, and a member of the Student Sustainability Council(SSC), Catherine, will submit CWRU's application tobe certified as a Tree Campus USA at the end of2017.
