Reading Bronze: 1. Ben finds jewels with diamonds in the biscuit tin. 2. Jubilee means an anniversary celebration. 3. Ben put the tin back on the shelf so Granny wouldn’t know
he was snooping. 4. There was egg on the kitchen window because Ben had
tried to flick it out of the window.
Silver: 1. We can assume that Granny’s cooking is rather horrid! 2. Granny quacking means she is a bit crazy. 3. The words that make the egg swallowing incident sound
disgusting are, ‘cold, wet egg; slipped down his throat; Yuck, yuck and double yuck; fearing he would vomit.
4. I think Ben is too scared of what Granny might do to just refuse to eat egg for breakfast in the first place.
