Autumnbeautyboundseverywhere!Colorsburstforthfromthelandscape;crispbreezesfilltheair;winterclothesemergefromdeepwithintheclosets.ThesceneryacrossOklahomaservesasareminderthatwinterknocksonthedoor. But wait – THANKSGIVINGcomesfirst!

At the time I am writing these words, Linda and I are viewing the

Alps of Germany and Austria. This week we have had the delight

of living among a most unique sub-culture of society, families of

military personnel who defend our country. We are grateful to

have had the privilege of sharing our lives and the sentiments

of Oklahoma. It has been our joy to minister during the Assem-

blies of God Military Retreat in Garmisch, Germany as well as in

Wiesbaden, Germany as guests of Al and Emanuela Perna. God’s

blessings have been abundant!

Never have I been more grateful to belong to this great nation,

to be part of our wonderful Fellowship, or to witness the arm of

evangelism around the world. I can celebrate THANKSGIVING

2010with renewed emphasis!

Unfortunately we tend to live for the big moments of life. As

one major event concludes we immediately focus on the next

“big” item on the horizon. This season I desire to walk slowly

through the crowd; to pause and examine the beauty of a rip-

pling stream; to inhale the aroma of the fireplace, the simmering

spices, and to give thanks for the “little” things we often take for

granted.

Our lives afford few moments for quiet reflection. Standing on

the balcony of Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, I have been remind-

ed of an awesome God! During the final days of this month, let

us take time to discover new “quiet” moments. It will require

effort, but the action will result in a new revelation of the Eternal

Almighty!

Maywereverethelittlethings,im-merseourselvesinquietreflection,andcherishrelationshipsthatwemostvalue.HappyThanksgiving!

On September 14, 2010

ReverendRaymondFrizzelle,

to fill the unexpired term of Arlis

Moon, a faithful brother, who has

provided outstanding leader-

ship as a member of the District

Presbytery for almost thirteen

years. The Moon’s recently accepted the pastorate at Altus

First Assembly of God and resigned from Tahlequah Calvary

where they served as pastors for the past eighteen years.

Our thanks and appreciation for the years Arlis served on the

District Presbytery Board. Liz continues to serve as our District

Girl’s Ministries Coordinator.

Pastor Frizzelle was born on March 30, 1954 and grew up at-

tending North Side Assembly of God in Fort Worth, Texas. Ray-

mond was saved at the age of 5 and filled with the Holy Ghost

with the evidence of speaking in tongues at the age of 12. He

was called into the ministry at 16 years of age. After graduat-

ing high school he worked for ten years as a Lay Minister at

Gospel Lighthouse in Dallas, Texas with Reverend J.C. Hib-

bard. In 1984 he spent 6 months serving a missions term with

“Beyond the Reef” in Portland, Oregon. In 1985 he returned to

Gospel Lighthouse to work with the Church in Street Ministry

for one year. From 1986 to 1992 he served two churches as

Children’s and Youth pastor. In 1993 he went on staff at Law-

ton First Assembly as Children’s Pastor and served there until

2002 when he was elected Pastor at Miami First Assembly of

God. He attended CFNI and Global University, was Licensed

WHATARETHEPOSSIBILITIES?While driving to one of the Light for the Lost banquets, I began

to contemplate the construction of the new camp at Sparks. In

doing so I realized how much is needed to accomplish this mas-

sive goal.

I am not simply referring to the concrete slab, the plumbing, the

electrical, and the mechanical. Yes, that work is massive but

instead I am talking about the financial side of the project. I dis-

covered a long time ago that it is not one church or one person

that accomplishes Kingdom work. Sure! We need large dona-

tions, one-time gifts, and those who do the extraordinary.

However,itistheconsistentgivingofeveryone! We need

the children of Oklahoma to participate as well as the students.

After all they will be the direct recipients of this great facility.

We need grandparents to sponsor grandchildren. We need

families to “adopt” not only their kids but others who may not

have adequate finances. We need churches to take ownership

of a room, an entire cabin, the Dining Center, or the Worship

Center.

I have been excited to see the overall support shown in this

endeavor. BUTITISCRUNCHTIME!

Walls are going up; decking is being placed on trusses; buildings

are being dried-in so work can continue this winter. The mate-

rial is arriving daily and contractors are striving to stay ahead of

the process.

WOULDYOUCONSIDERWHATYOUCANDO? Let’s believe God

for a financial miracle! Let’s celebrate the POSSIBILITIES!

Ghana West AfricaI had the privilege to be the speaker at the Missionary Ralph Hol-

landsworth Memorial Service at the Southern Ghana Bible College

in Ghana, West Africa. It was a joy to see the accomplishments

of these wonderful missionaries on this African field. They have

made a tremendous impact for Christ in this entire country.

The service was conducted on the campus of the Bible College

in the large tabernacle that the Hollandsworths built. A special

part of the service was the dedication of this worship center to

the memory of Ralph Hollandsworth. The General Superinten-

dent, Rev. (Dr.) Paul Frimpong Mansod place large plaques on the

outside and the inside of the worship center as a lasting memorial

for the Hollandsworths.

The Assemblies of God Ghana executive officers are all graduates

of the Southern Ghana Bible College with Ralph Hollandsworth

as their mentor, teacher and principal. Pictured above are all four

executive officers.

ThanksgivingAgainYes, and I’m glad. Maybe all the elections didn’t go to suit us,

possibly 2010 witnessed sickness or even heartache in our

household, or perhaps economic difficulties rocked our world.

Still we made it, and it is Thanksgiving time again.

I trust that this Thanksgiving will find you overeating, spending

time with family and friends, rooting for your favorite football

team, and otherwise just kicking back, enjoying a little time off.

In spite of many wrongs the government of the United States of

America continues to recognize a national day of Thanksgiving.

Thank God! Thank God for America and our wonderful freedoms

and opportunities.

For the child of God Thanksgiving means even more. Thanksgiv-

ing becomes a way of life. Thanksgiving is a lifestyle, more than

a one day a year happening. The Apostle Paul said, “…overflow-

ing with Thankfulness.” Col. 2:7

Allow me now please to share some thoughts that should really

make us thankful. I’m not sure to whom credit should be given

for these stats and reasonings but here they are:

1. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a

roof over your head with a place to sleep you are richer that

75% of the world’s population.

2. If you have money in the bank, cash in your wallet and spare

change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8 % of the

earth’s wealthiest people.

3. If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you

are more fortunate than the million people who will not survive

the week.

4. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the

loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of

starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

5. If you can attend any religious meeting without fear of

harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are fortunate indeed as

billions of people in our world cannot.

We are blessed beyond measure. Let us always be thankful in

spirit and in deed.

On November 11, 1620, the Mayflower dropped anchor in a natu-

ral harbor on the inside of the northern tip

of Cape Cod. There it stayed. The location

was not the Pilgrims’ first choice; they had

planned to settle near the mouth of the

Hudson.

The area where the ship made landfall had belonged to the

Patuxets, a fierce tribe that took intense delight in murdering any-

one who would dare invade their territory. A sickness, however,

had wiped them out, leaving their land free for the taking. The

Pilgrims didn’t even have to clear fields for planting. They were

already cleared for them.

The nearest neighbors were the Wampanoags, a civilized tribe

ruled by Massasoit. The chief and his people accepted the Pil-

grims and helped them. Squanto, a lone survivor of the Patuxets,

made his home with this new inhabitants and taught them how to

survive in this new and challenging land.

Although the bounty of the summer of 1621 brought a time of

heartfelt gratitude (the first Thanskgiving), the Pilgrims’ obligation

to repay the backers, who had financed their voyage, left them

dangerously close to starvation. Food had all but disappeared.

At one point, a daily ration of food for a Pilgrim was 5 kernels of

corn. With a simple faith that God would sustain them, no matter

what, they pulled through. History records that not a single one of

them died from starvation that winter. Not a one.

The harvest of 1623 brought a surplus of corn, so much that the

Pilgrims were able to help out the Wampanoags for a change.

They were so joyous they celebrated a second Day of Thanksgiv-

ing, and once again invited Massasoit to be their guest. He came,

bringing his wife, several other chiefs and 120 braves. They all

sat down to a feast of 12 venison, 6 goats, 50 hogs and pigs,

numerous turkeys, vegetables, grapes, nuts, plums, puddings and

pies. But, lest anyone forget, all were given their first course on

an empty plate.

They were each given 5 kernels of corn.

Upon reading this story I wondered what those 5 kernels would

remind us of:

The firstkernel reminds us that God loves us.

The secondkernel reminds us that God pro-vides for our needs.

The third kernel reminds us of the friends God has given us.

The fourth kernel reminds us of all the people God has given us who love us.

The fifth kernel reminds us that God hears our prayers and answers us.

HappyThanksgiving!

Last October I had the privilege of traveling with a group of

ladies who have a passion for Girls Ministries AND missions. We

journeyed to Belgium and then into Holland where we walked

the streets of the Red Light District in Antwerp and Amsterdam

several times praying and interceding for the women trapped in

such darkness behind the windows.

And now this year the National Girls Ministries Coins For Kids mis-

sions project is “A Taste of Freedom”. It’s rightly named because

in Antwerp, Belgium missionary April Foster has tea with girls who

come right from work off the Red Light District. Not only does

April give them tea and something to eat but she shares the Bible

and the love of Jesus with them. She also wants to provide a safe

place for them to live and where they can learn to cook, sew and

make jewelry. Some girls have been rescued already and they

now attend church, study the Bible and worship Jesus. (We went

to church with them and it was amazing!) But there are many

more who need our help.

You can help rescue more girls by giving to Coins For Kids!

National Girls Ministries has set a goal of $200,000 to be raised

for this project. The money will be used to buy a building for the

resource center and to pay for the apartment where April has Tea

and Bible studies!

A Taste of Freedom Coins For Kids missions project runs from

April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011. Contributions may be sent

to the National Girls Ministries Dept. (you receive BGMC credit),

1445 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802 or you can con-

tribute online at www.ngmevents.ag.org/cfk

Goal for OKLAHOMA is$25,000! We can do it and help buy the

resource center for the young ladies in Belgium who need peace

and safety! Go to YouTube and watch my Taste of Freedom-Bel-

gium video!

Girls and leaders across Oklahoma had hours of fun and very little sleep during the National Girls Ministries Sleepover on or around Sept. 24/25.

We had an awesome time at the Section 5 Sleepover at the Tulsa

Zoo with 181 girls and leaders in attendance. We had 3 salvations

and $300.27 was given for CFK

Section 11 Sleepover was held at Woodward First A/G with 37 girls

and 11 leaders in attendance. 3 girls gave their hearts to the Lord.

GM Coordinator Lanette Clevenger challenged her girls to bring

$1,000 for Coins for Kids this year and she would dye her hair the

colors of all the clubs. CFK total was $1,683.90, Lanette reports –

My hair is now all 6 club colors!
