The Camp

Ol-tome laikipia camp is situated in Laikipia North district, within a conservancy that boasts a diversity of fauna and flora. The word Ol- tome is derived from the Samburu language meaning an elephant. The camp is nestled on the banks of the mighty Ewaso Nyiro River in abundant bush and shrubs, bustling with bird life.

The camp ensures all its guests not only experience the perfect holiday getaway and safari but also receive a level of comfort and luxury that is difficult to find elsewhere in Africa. Ol tome laikipia camp is an exclusive tented camp based on a private ranch where conservation is a primary concern and we offer an intimate wilderness experience for the wildlife connoisseur, located on a private conservancy, means that you do not have limitations imposed by natural parks. To explore the conservancy to its full potential we encourage guests to experience as many activities as possible. Our professional safari guides are on hand to help you experience the wildlife and culture of Oltome giving you the true feeling of Africa. Our friendly experienced local chef prepares delicious dishes from the finest local ingredients in a homely manner. We are proud members of the Laikipia Wildlife Forum.

Accomodation

We have six luxury tents topped with thatch roofs that offer a bush experience with a touch of luxury. Each tent has its own spacious verandah with ensuite bathroom.

These are ideal for singles, doubles and twin sharing. We have one superior luxury tent and 5 standard tents.

Bar & Restaurant

At our restaurant, you can be guaranteed of a wide range of meals, both local and international cuisine in either ala-carte, buffet and barbeque. All our meals are prepared in-house by our professional and experienced chef. You can always be free to consult our chef or the catering staff incase of any request for meals not included in our menu.

We offer different options on where to enjoy your meals, i.e. on top of the deck, at the restaurant and the main lounge overlooking the mighty owaso nyiro river, We do have a well stocked bar with a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and wide selection of wines, hot beverages are also served.

Getting There…By road- 190 km from Nairobi to Nanyuki and 70 km from Nanyuki to the camp, By Air- By charter flight to the nearest air strip (Lentile air strip), By Chopper- direct to the camp (available on request), GPS readings are available on request.
