New Delhi, Jan 19Reserve Bank has askedbanks and other card-issuing companies toprovide facility tocustomers to switch onand off their debit or creditcards, a move aimed atenhancing security fordigital transactions. The RBI said that at thetime of issue or re-issue, allcards (physical and virtual)should be enabled for useonly at contact basedpoints of usage ATMs andPoint of Sale (PoS) deviceswithin India. The central Bank saidissuers should providecardholders a facility forenabling card not present(domestic andinternational) transactions,card present (international)transactions andcontactless transactions.
