ED NoteJust 1 More – 1 Person, 1 Penny,1 Mission can make a differenceAs you look at the pictures of some of our families and their precious children youwill start to understand the enormity of our mission and the critical nature of ourcause. We are here to serve pediatric patients and their families who come toAugusta seeking the excellent medical care they can receive in our city. We havetaken care of thousands of families in our 27 year history and plan on continuingwell into the future. Each of our kids is special and each of their families have aplace in the hearts of the volunteers and staff. Who knows what would havehappened to these families if we hadn’t been there for them when their child

needed us. Where would they sleep? Who would take care of the little daily things, like laundry and dinner? Where will they be able to restand refresh so that they are able to focus on caring for their child?

Donors make it possible for us to do our work. I am challenging each of you to think about our kids and their families and ask yourself whatyou would do if a special child in your life needed critical medical care away from home. As you think about this, consider visiting your nearbyMcDonald’s and dropping your change into the Donation Box next to the cash register. Your 1 penny will make a difference. If every customerin the US donated a penny every time they visited a McDonald’s throughout the year, RMHCand our local Chapters could raise more than $62 million for the families who rely on us.

The power of 1 should never be underestimated…1 person giving 1 penny to support our1 mission…taking care of pediatric patients and their families, 1 at a time.

Betts Murdison, Executive Director
