GLYDE FOREWORD The highlight of the year was achieving second place in two of the single ram lamb classes at our Premier Show & Sale in Blessington. A Benedyglen Big Jack son was second behind the eventual overall champion in the open class and our Ak Magic sired lamb stood second in the Sheep Ireland Recorded class, selling to Ryan Conway for 1700gns. Our entry in the ewe lamb class was placed third with the hammer falling at 900gns.All were out of home bred Glyde ewes who are consistently good breeders. Some of the top genetics in the breed are in their pedigrees and over the years we have achieved much success and top prices for our stock.The ewes forward for sale this year are genuine good breeding stock and we are confident they will do well in their new flocks.Our service sire this year is Birness Freedom who cost £26,000 in Lanark,2020. His first crop of ram lambs have sold to £18,000, £9,000 and £6,000. We think he is a good combination for these ewes.

Castleisle Kilteskin Prince has bred exceptionally well for us and his top 3 sons in our flocks sold to the UK averaging over €6,000 last year. He also sired the Reserve Champion at Premier S&S in Blessington 2020 & 2021 and top priced ram 2020. His ewe lambs are also exceptional. He was the South of Ireland Sire of the Year 2020.

DRUMBARRON FLOCKThe Drumbarron Flock was established in 2020 with the purchase of ewes from some of the best know genetics in the Suffolk Breed with the plan to invest annually with both females and tups to maintain a high level of improvement in the flock.

Due to Tommy’s untimely and tragic passing it is with much regret that his family have decided to disperse this new and upcoming flock.

All sheep have been dosed for fluke and are on the Heptavac-P system.

Ewes have been scanned and will be scanned again prior to sale.

Potential buyers should be aware that there may be a possibility of some anomalies in the listings in the catalogue.

An Appreciation

I first met Tommy in early July when he asked if he could visit my flock. Our first outing together was the Tup Tour to N.I. followed by a trip to Ballymena Premier Sale. Blessington was up next followed by Leinster Club Sale in Carnew. Our next planned trip was to be Lanark 2022. Unfortunately, that wasn’t to be. It was my pleasure to have met and get to know Tommy. He was an absolute gentleman.
