One Day Awareness Workshop on Energy Efficient Technology at MSMSE, Fan

A “One Day Awareness Workshop on Energy Efficient Technology at MSME, Fan

Cluster, Bansdroni – Kolkata” was conducted in Association with Micro, Small & Medium

Enterprises – Development Institute, Kolkata and National Productivity Council,

Kolkata.

Objective of the Workshop

The stated workshop was attended by about 30 participants (first line engineers, supervisors and

workshop owners) from the fan manufacturing cluster. The main objective of the program was to

disseminate the development in Energy Efficiency in residential fans, star rating of fans, Super Energy

Efficient Program in Fans in the country to enable participants / the owners of the cluster shops to

practice the need and enable them to take necessary and corrective actions.

Apart from the above, it was also to train the participants in the area of energy efficiency in there

cluster units.

The dignitaries present on the dais also addressed the audience citing the need of such practical

knowledge imparting sessions in the below mentioned chronological order:

2. Shri Shri A.K.Sinha, Director & Head, NPC Kolkata

Shri Sinha emphasized on the purpose of such workshops which is the dissemination of awareness on

proper operational & maintenance practices for energy conservation measures. He informed the

audience about the expansive activities carried out by NPC towards productivity & efficiency

improvement through trainings, audits as well as supervisory & monitoring assistance.

The technical session was started by Shri Anand Sinha, Assistant Director, NPC Kolkata in

which the program background vis-à-vis technical modalities was briefed along with details. Majority

of the session included discussion on topics like BLDC Motors & fans, Reduction of unbalance

in 3-phase voltage, Power Factor improvement techniques, percentage loading of

motors and use of Energy Efficient Motors etc.

The program was well received by the audience throughout the program and appreciated the quality

of course material, technical lectures etc. Hosting of similar event in near future was also requested.

At the last Shri A. K Sinha thanked the Chair & summarized the outline of the program, thereby

delivering the concluding remarks.
