Save the Date G-Force VBS is coming to Cayce UMC June 22nd - June 26th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please email or call Lisa Fisher at 939-4654 or [email protected]. We need volunteers to shepherd the children from each activity, assistants for each station, register the children, decorating and assisting in the nursery. Please take the time to reflect your call to service within Cayce UMC and volunteer should you feel called! We appreciate as always your continued support by giving your time and talents to our children’s ministry and outreach to the community.

YOUTH NEWS

Pastor’s Reflections…

In 2013, we celebrated the heritage of Cayce and claimed the ways the church and its members changed lives and transformed communities across 100 years of ministry. In 2014, we looked forward to our future and the ways we work together as a church to change and transform in the name of Christ through a change in our governing structure to be more fruitful in our stated mission. Over the course of those two years, we built on what was done and began to look at what we do together as a church into the future. We celebrate what has been done, but the work is far from complete. In 2015, we step up to a higher challenge. How do we equip and encourage the individual members and friends of Cayce UMC to participate more fully in the church's mission in their daily lives? In other words, how do we equip and encourage them into deeper discipleship, to following Christ into the fullness of life and ser-vice? Already the committee on nominations and leadership development has placed the board in the church that invites your response to the question: "How have you made God's love known this week?" Changing lives and transforming communities often happens in small and anonymous ways. In May, we will invite you to vol-unteer for one or more of the ways the church offers to serve...to make a difference for Christ as you grow as a disciple of Christ. Please look for more information over the next couple of weeks. Of course, there are many other ways to change and transform as disciples beyond these structured ways; over the next few months we will find ways to share and develop those. I challenge the members of Cayce to reflect upon and to be especially deliberate about our individual and col-lective paths of discipleship. How are you growing in Christ? How are you inviting and serving others in their journey of faith? How is our mission statement as a church enacted in what we do as individuals and as a community of faith? Following Jesus is not a spectator sport. It is a way of life. May we all be about changing lives and transform-ing communities for Christ---including our own lives and this church community. Peace, Pastor Joseph

tion and at the worship service. My sincere thanks for the beautiful vase, the delightful scrapbook, the generous financial gift and

A Special Church

There’s a Methodist Church in the town of Cayce,

A church that will always be dear to the heart.

When you pass through her doors you find warmth, God’s blessing

And arms that welcome you from the very start.

Her brick hallowed walls hold the message of God’s love,

Bring joy and peace and the love that we seek.

There within true believers, a congregation,

God’s will, God’s promises ever strive to keep.

Its an old congregation of true believers.

From one hundred years she has served her Maker.

Quite many a soul has found peace and contentment

Worshiping God with their sister and brother.

There’s a quiet courtyard filled with pretty flowers

Where one can find solace from the daily grind.

We’re sure it resembles the Garden of Eden,

What a wonderful place on this earth to find.

Today we are thankful for this church in Cayce,

A church that will always be dear to the heart.

For within her walls we find peace and contentment,

From this congregation we will never part.
