    From thePRESIDENT KRCB

    Nancy Dobbs, President and CEO

    Dear Member,

December marks the end of a very important servicewhich KRCB has been offering to our Northern Californiacommunity for 25-plus years. GED on TVand GED on TVin Spanishhave been staples of our daily lineup, of whichwe have been very proud. Other staons that carriedthese important educaonal programs ran them in themiddle of the night, but we proudly aired them daymeweekdays, a me slot which we calculated had the bestchance of reaching those in need of compleng their highschool diploma.

I remember early days meeng a single mom who haddropped out of high school and who couldnt find a jobas a result. While watching her kids, she was able to alsowatch GED on TV on KRCB and study to earn her GED.I met her on the campus of Santa Rosa Junior College, where she had never beenbefore, having just completed her GED test. That year we had a graduaon ceremonyfor those successful graduates, many of whom had studied with KRCB, including thatyoung mom.

The rules around GED are being significantly altered so the programs are no longeravailable. We like to think that over the past 25 years KRCB has been instrumental

in helping hundreds of folks study and successfully complete the test, helping themtake the iniave to turn their lives around. This is the service to community which your membership supports, and we thank

    you.
