Community Impact Day is when the Church leaves the building to
serve throughout our community. In partnership with Habitat for Humanity,
Clarkston Community Schools, Calvary Lutheran Church, Clarkston Community Church,
Independence Township Senior Center, Niemans Family Market, Lighthouse, Kids Against
Hunger, Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce, Clarkston Community Schools and other
non-profit organizations we use this one day to impact the community around us.
To register for a workday on Saturday, April 25 or Sunday, April 26 just to our website at
www.calvaryinfo.org and click on Service Projects. Click in Impact Weekend and it will take you to
our online registration page on Sign Up Genius. You can also contact Deborah Robitaille at the church
office or leave an InTouch card today with your information and choice of project and we will register
for you. Please do include your email address!

Summer Camp Mission Experience—Grades 8-9
June 21-26, 2015 CranHill Ranch Cost: $175—a $50 deposit is required RSVP by Friday, April 3 to Susan Batchik at [email protected].
This *new* trip meets the mission trip requirement for those in Confirmation Ministry and not able to attend the ELCA Youth Gathering this summer. The program will be customized for Calvary to include a service component, and separate from the incoming class attending Confirmation Camp at CranHill.

Blessing of Quilt for Habitat Family
Today we will bless a quilt lovingly sewn by our Calvary members for the family moving into it’s their Habitat home this month. Thanks be to God.

Bishops Wendell Gibbs and Donald Kreiss will be presiding.

IF: Gathering Women's Event May 8 6pm-9:30 and May 9 9am-12pm
We are looking forward to an amazing time of worship, fellowship, and digging deeper into our faith with some great speakers! Consider it like a mini-retreat, but you get to go home and sleep in your own bed!

2015 Youth Gathering The Service Learning team is recruiting for the following roles to assist with fulfilling service learning projects for 30,000 people: Site Captains, Skilled Labor & Material Handlers. You will be blessed to be a blessing to the organizations we are partnering with, the people of Detroit, and the participants of the ELCA Youth Gathering. This truly is going to be amazing event—I hope you will be part of it!

What Growth Group or serving opportunity are you participating in? How are you using your unique God-given SHAPE (spiritual gifts, heart passions, abilities, personality and experiences) to be light to the world God loves enough to send Jesus to die for? Where is God calling you to serve outside the congregation?
Wint’s Healing Hearts Grief Support Group April Meeting

National Day of Prayer “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.” l Kings 8:28 The 2015 Clarkston Area National Day of Prayer Breakfast will be held Thursday, May 7 from 7-9am at the Fountains Golf and Banquet Center, 6060 Maybee Rd, Clarkston. The theme this year is “Lord, Hear Our Cry”, featuring “Men of Grace”.

Spring Community Impact Days
It’s hard to believe, but it’s already here! We are pleased to be working closely with Clarkston Community Church, My Habitat Clarkston, Clark-ston Community Schools, Independence Township Senior Center and other non-profit organizations to sponsor the Spring version of Impact Day.
We have 30 projects planned for April 25 & 26 and hope to serve hundreds of people alongside hundreds of awesome volunteers. Some of our projects include Spring cleanup at some of the Clarkston Schools, food collection and distribution for local food pantries, work at the DRAW Warehouse, a community garden project, work at our Pontiac campus, making blankets for Children’s Hospital, sewing projects for Haven & Baldwin Center, a site for My Habitat Clarkston, Canines for Christ and more. There is a project to suit every schedule eve-ry mobility, every age and every skill.
Go to our website and click on the Service Opportunities tab. That will take you to our Sign Up Genius page and you can choose a Saturday or Sunday project. Also in April look for our display in the Welcome Center and you can sign up there.

Men’s Softball
Opening Day is Tuesday, May 5 for our Men’s Soft-ball team. Time and location will be announced at a later time.
