Coriolis measuring principle

ACoriolistwintubemassflowmeterconsistsoftwomeasuringtubesjadrivecoilkandtwosensors(landm)thatarepositionedeithersideofthedrivecoil.

Static meter not energised and with no flow

Whenthemeterisenergised,thedrivecoilvibratesthemeasuringtubesjcausingthemtooscillatekandproduceasinewavel.Thesinewaveismoni-toredbythetwosensors.

Whenafluidorgaspassesthroughthetubesj,thecorioliseffectcausesaphaseshiftlinthesinewavekthatisdetectedbythetwosensors.Thisphaseshiftisdirectlyproportionaltothemassflow.Densitymeasurementismadebyevaluationofthefrequencyofvibrationandtemperaturemeasure-mentismadeusingaPt500sensor.
