Responsibilities k Developing a waste diversion plan to keep recyclable and organic materials out of the garbage in a way that meets the needs of your operation. k Implementation of your plan including all associated costs, supplies, resources and efforts. Examples of plan components could include hiring a waste hauler, dropping off materials at a depot, composting on-site, donating edible food waste, or another innovative solution. HOW WE DEVELOPED THIS OPTION: We heard through engagement that choice, convenience and flexibility are important to businesses and organizations, and that using the business licensing process was preferred. Submission of a waste diversion plan however, only had moderate support due to a perceived lack of knowledge and resources needed to meet the requirement.
