The earth was filled with peace and light, when Christ arose; The heavens trembled at the sight, when Christ arose; The sea rejoiced along the sand, the vernal valleys clapped their hands, The mountains sang, and all the lands, when Christ arose.
CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 9:1-2 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful works. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, Most High!
HYMN 611 HYMN TO JOY Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION Lord, you invite us to come to you in prayer, assuring us that you love us even though you know what we do and even what we think. Our words are sometimes mean and ugly. We do things we wish we wouldn’t do, but can’t seem to help our-selves. We can’t control our thoughts. We feel enticed by the world around us. We ask you to forgive us and to help us for-give ourselves and others, so that we may live more like the people you want us to be, and we want to be; for we pray in Jesus’ name. (silence for personal prayer and reflection)
CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE GIFT OF LOVE
Hymn 693, stanza 3 Come, Spirit, come, our hearts control; our spirits long to be made whole. Let inward love guide every deed; by this we worship, and are freed.
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
GLORIA PATRI Hymn 581 Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

How Can I Keep From Singing? with Praise Him! Praise Him!
Ambassador and Sanctuary Choirs
There is an endless song echoes in my soul, and I hear the music ring. And though the storms may come, I am holding on to the rock I cling.
How can I keep from singing Your praise? How can I ever say enough? How amazing is Your love. How can I keep from shouting Your name? I know I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart want to sing.
Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer! Sing, O earth His wonderful love proclaim! Hail Him! Hail Him! Highest archangels in glory; Strength and honor give to His holy name! Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children In His arms He carries all day long.
Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness. Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!
Now I will lift my eyes in the darkest night, for I know my Savior lives. And I will walk with You, knowing You'll see me through, And sing the songs You give.
THE WORD FOR CHILDREN All the children are invited to come forward for the Word for Children. Afterward, children kindergarten and younger may go to children’s activities downstairs.

RESPONDING TO THE WORD
HYMN 450 Be Thou My Vision SLANE
RECOGNITION OF GRADUATING SENIORS
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH from A Declaration of Faith Christ calls us to live in the presence of God. Jesus lived with a constant sense of his Father’s presence. He put God’s claim on his life above all else. He joined others in God’s worship and praise. He drew strength from the Scriptures. He prayed and taught his disciples to pray. We believe Christ gives us and demands of us personal lives that are centered in God and open to God’s reality and rule. Christ teaches us to put obedience to God above the interests of self, family, race or nation; to offer God joyously our money, ability, and time.
It is part of our discipline to observe a day of worship and rest, setting aside our own working to enjoy God’s work, celebrating with sisters and brothers the Lord’s goodness. We need constantly to search out God’s way in Scripture, not expecting detailed directions for every decision, but relying on the Word to tell us who God is, to press God’s present claim on us, and to assure us of God’s grace and comfort.
