Origami pinwheels

Push pins

1. Paint the foam ring. Allow to dry.

2. Attach a ribbon to the top centre of

the foam ring to create a hanging loop.

3. Place an origami pinwheel on the ring

and attach with a push pin. Continually

add and pin more pinwheels, slightly

layering each pinwheel on top of another,

until the whole ring is covered.

6Bring the left edge of the top layer to the

vertical centre line. This is the result.

9Take the top left flap of the model and unfold.

Open the fold a little, and bring it to the right

side. Press down at the top, and flatten.

Repeat this process for the right flap.

5Bring the right edge of the top layer

you’ve just folded, line it up carefully

with the other model half and gently

press to secure. Repeat this process.

11Bring the top right layer corner up to the

vertical centre line and fold. Repeat this

firming up the existing creases.

Repeat the whole process with

another piece of paper.

1Divide and cut a sheet of origami paper*

into 1cm-wide strips. Stick three strips

together to create one length.

4Take the other end of the strip and wrap

it around the knot. Continue wrapping

around, gently creasing each fold.

2Take one end and tie a knot, carefully

pulling it tight, then flatten.

5Tuck the remaining strip

into the pentagon.

sides, using the centre folds as guides,

and carefully collapse the centre square.
