Many of us can say a few words in a foreign language, but the goal is to be able to express ourselves clearly using the most appropriate words and structures and feel confident in a wide variety of situations. We have structured myClass PLUS to help you achieve this success.

To ensure myClass PLUS is a more enjoyable and motivating experience for you, it is important that you learn language and skills that are appropriate for your level. myClass PLUS is structured around 4 levels, from Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate* to make sure what you learn helps you to make progress.

The British Council has a network of language schools all over the world. When working with such a large group of people from different backgrounds, it is important to have a level system that everyone can be a part of. For this reason, we have aligned our levels to the internationally recognised Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the global standard. This means you can take what you learn with us, and know what that means all over the world.

Elementary learners can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases common in routine office tasks. They can interact confidently in a simple way.

Pre-Intermediate learners can communicate more effectively in familiar contexts. They can express their opinion about information on familiar topics in a meeting, understand articles and newspapers, and write a letter or a short business report.

Intermediate learners can communicate in English more fluently in most situations. They understand the main idea of more complex texts and deal with a range of topics and non-routine information. They can produce, describe, and give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Upper-Intermediate learners can communicate with a degree of fluency and spontaneity. They can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue in various options. They can deliver presentations, take part in technical discussions in their field of specialisation and negotiate agreement.
