Discuss with a partner how to keep a clean and safe environment in our classroom.
Be prepared to share. Raise your hands when I ask for examples.
Tonight: Write down other rules we might need and bring them tomorrow.
Following Rules will result in . .
• Verbal acknowledgement• A stress-free learning
environment• A pleasant and orderly
classroom atmosphere• Earning Longhorn Prides
A warning will be given if a rule is broken.
If another rule is broken, movement to another seat or personal conference will occur.
If yet another is broken, an email or phone call to your parents will be made.
If the above three steps fail to work, and rules continue to be broken, an office referral will be given.
A parent/teacher conference will be called.

Why is this important?

The Quiet Signal
When you see me raise my hand, become quiet and raise your hand until everyone is quiet.
Why do we need this?
Let’s practice—everyone start talking!
Restroom Procedure
• Try to take care of business before class.• If you need to be excused to the restroom, raise your
hand with your fingers crossed or by holding up two fingers.
Why do we need this?
Turning in Papers
• Pass your work up to the front of the row, or center of the table if in a group.
• A helper will come by and collect all stacks.
• If you finish work in class, you may turn your work in to the appropriate class period tray, located on my desk.
Finished with Work
• Work on other work
• Help others (quietly)
• Stay in your seat (unless helping others)
• Remain quiet
Dismissal Procedure
• I dismiss you, not the bell• Quietly prepare to be dismissed• Wait for me to dismiss you• Leave quietly and walk from
the room.
