You know that you are the living temple of the Holy Spirit. You are to be placed as so many living stones by the God of love in the building
of the heavenly Jerusalem. You must expect then to be hewn and cut and chiseled with the hammer and chisel of the cross.
Otherwise you will remain as rough stones that are good for nothing but to be despised and thrown away. St. Louis de Montfort (d. 1716)

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION
From a letter to Bishops from Leonardo Card. Sandri, Prefect,
The Congregation for the Oriental Churches. Our sense of com-
munion in the suffering and risen Christ moves us again this
year to undertake the important initiative that is the Collection
for the Holy Land. On the Assembly of Organizations for Aid to
the Oriental Churches, on June 16, 2016, Pope Francis recalled
the value, not only of the presence of the Church in the Holy
Land, but also of the “maintenance of the holy places and
shrines, also with the help of the yearly Good Friday Collection
providently instituted by Blessed Paul VI”. This enables the
Catholic communities of the Holy Land, the Latin Patriarchal
Diocese of Jerusalem, the Franciscan Custody and other juris-
dictions, especially Eastern ones along with religious communi-
ties and organizations of all kinds to help the poor and suffering
of every ethnicity and every faith, without distinction.
NIGHT OF WORSHIP AND MINISTRY
- 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, FRI APRIL 28 -
Speaker: Fr. Denis Hayes, CC
Worship team leading praise and worship.
Prayer teams will be available for personal prayer.
Reception and fellowship to follow in the hall.

PARKING SPACE RENTAL
St Mary’s is blessed with a large, well-maintained parking lot,
plowed in winter and empty most of the week. Until recently.
After consultation with the Archdiocese, the City of Ottawa and
our insurance company, and following the example of other par-
ishes, St Mary’s has started to rent parking spaces, Monday to
Friday between 6:00am and 6:00pm for a modest monthly fee of
$75. The people who are now renting six spaces find this more
reasonable than the price of the parking tickets they were finding
on their cars parked on side streets in the area.
Who are these people renting our parking spaces? Our first
month trial period has been to rent to six workers employed on a
construction project in the area. But there’s still plenty of space
(up to 20), without compromising the needs of our parishioners.
So, if you know of other people who would like to be able to rely
on a weekday parking spot within walking distance of work, or if
you would like to help us advertise to the Government of Canada
buildings and Ottawa Hospital; please pass along the information
that St Mary’s has spaces available. Your help is appreciated.
Contact the parish office for more details.
Who knows? Some of them might even join us for daily masses.
