SECOND COLLECTION | INSURANCE: This weekend’s second collection is to help with the
parish insurance which is approximately $3,200 per month. Last month’s collection for
insurance realized approx. $1,600. Your generosity to the second collection is appreciated.
Special Collection: The US Bishops have asked that a collection be taken in parishes on the
weekend of Sept 17-18 to aid the victims of the extreme flooding in Louisiana.
FAITH FORMATION: ANOTHER YEAR BEGINS!
Classes for FCP 1 A/B, FCP A/B, Level 3, 4, 5: Classes begin on Wednesday, Sept 7 from
5:15-6:00PM at St. James St. John School, 180 Orchard Street.
Classes for MS 1, MS 2, Conf 1, Conf 2: Classes begin on Sunday, Sept 11 at 8:15 –
11:00AM in the parish Hall. (Enter through the basement doors!) The children will attend the
10AM Mass together and will be dismissed following the Mass.
Registration: Sunday morning and Tuesday from 4:00 – 6:30PM in the Parish Office.
Teachers: Can you offer an hour a week to help with Faith Formation? If so, talk to Tim or
one of the teachers. We’re in need of “helpers” in various grade levels.
Bilingual Assistant: We are looking for someone who is able to communicate in English and
Spanish to help with meetings and other events. If you can help, please see Tim Mitchell.
Fees: Since we are still in the Year of Mercy, there will be no cost for classes this year.
10:00 AM Mass: Just a reminder that during Faith Formation, the 10 AM Mass will be
bilingual so that families can worship together.
DO YOU WANT TO BE CATHOLIC? Would you like to become part of the Church? Would you
like to complete your Sacraments (Communion, Confirmation)? If so, you’re invited this fall
to be part of the group who are preparing to receive the Sacraments at Easter. The sessions
begin on Sunday, October 2 at 10AM in the church hall. Please call the rectory, or talk to Juan
and Margarita Ayala, to register. Make the decision this year!
SILVER ROSE OF GUADALUPE: The parish Knights of Columbus invites everyone to a special
Mass for the Silver Rose of Guadalupe at 7:00PM, Monday, September 26. (Roses will be

FAITH FORMATION CONVENTION: The Ministry Convention will be held on Saturday, Nov 5 at the Cape Cod Conference Center in
Hyannis. All those in parish ministry are encouraged to attend the convention. Bishop da Cunha will celebrate Mass and be the

GROUP LEADERS MEETING: There will be a meeting for leaders of parish groups and organizations on Monday, September 12 at
5:45PM. Leaders should bring their group’s events/activities list through June 2017.
NB COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN: The DCCW invites everyone to a presentation by Kaylee Peixoto, a student of Bishop Stang

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Bishop da Cunha will offer a Mass to celebrate the wedding anniversary of couples who
are observing significant wedding anniversaries (including first year) during 2016. This celebration will take place on Sunday,
October 23 at 3:00 pm at St. Mary Cathedral in Fall River. If you would like an invitation, please call our parish office.
“ACTS” MEN’S RETREAT: Adoration, Community, Theology, Service – are the hallmarks of this retreat for me to strengthen your
faith, renew spirituality and grow as men of faith. The retreat is Thurs, Oct 13 – Sun Oct 16. For registration and information, contact

CHILDREN’S CHOIR: Phil Pereira invites all the young people of the parish to join the choir that usually sings at the 10AM Mass on

INTERFAITH PRAYER SERVICE: On Sunday, September 11, Fr. Pregana will join other faith leaders in an Interfaith Prayer Service for

CELEBRACIÓN DE ANIVERSARIOS SIGNIFICATIVOS: El Obispo va a celebrar una Misa con
las parejas que están celebrando un aniversario significativo (1, 5, 10, etc) el domingo 23

DÍA DE TRABAJO: No habrá Misa el lunes 5 septiembre por Día de Trabajo, un día feriado

SEGUNDA COLECTA | SEGUROS: Este domingo la segunda colecta es para los seguros
parroquiales que son $3,200 mensual. El mes pasado la colecta de seguros realizó aprox.

Colecta Especial: Los obispos de los Estados Unidos han pedido una colecta especial para
ayudar a los damnificados de los diluvios en el estado de Louisana. La colecta será el

casarse, o están pensando en casarse en el futuro, a unas charlas Prematrimoniales el 23 y 30

Asistente Bilingüe: También necesitamos alguien que puede ayudar como asistente con los
Padres de familias y el Director en reuniones de padres o en los ensayos. Si usted tiene la

LA ROSA DE PLATA DE GUADALUPE: Los Caballeros de Colon invitan a todos a una Misa especial el lunes 26 septiembre a las
