The altar flowers for Sunday, June
25, will be given in memory of
Marvella Dorman for her 90th
birthday by Julia and Steve Fort.
T oday as I am preparing to preach Bill Stevens’ funeral, I
am reminded of 1 Corinthians 15: 55 - 57:
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your s!ng?”
The s!ng of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But
thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
For all followers of Christ, we have victory in Christ Jesus. Death
can not keep us; sin can not bound us, we are victors because we
know Jesus who wears the victors crown! Jesus is our Hero, our
Savior, and our Lord!
This Sunday the Deal's will be on vaca!on. We are heading to my
parent’s home! The kids will be in the land of "Yes"! I will Lord
willing be back on Monday. Sunday will be a Gideon Day, and
George Christmas will be our Gideon speaker. I am thankful for
the Gideon ministry and their commitment to spreading the
gospel. Sunday Night the youth will be in charge of the aHerglow
service with a meal at 5 pm. (Details on front)
I hope that you have a blessed week! I love you all!

News from the Missions Commi$ee In keeping with TCBC’s Acts 1:8 Mission Strategy, the Missions
Commi)ee has begun two new projects to be carried out over the
next two months. One is a local missions project and the other is a
North Carolina missions project.
1) Quarterly Local Mission Project
“Serving the Community”
Free Clothes Give-A-Way
Free School Supplies Give-A-Way
Saturday, August 5, 2017
8:00am-12:00 Noon Fellowship Hall
• Church Wide Mission Effort—We encourage the involvement of
all church members.
• Opportunity to share the Gospel
• Opportunity for church outreach
We need church members to:
1) Donate their unused or unneeded clothes to the mission
project for give-a-way to needy people in our local
community.
2) Donate school supplies including back-packs and lunch boxes.
3) Volunteer at designated !mes to organize clothes and school
supplies and make all necessary prepara!ons for the
distribu!on to the needy on August 5, 2017.
4) Volunteer to serve on the Mission Project Day by:
α) Assis!ng with the distribu!on of clothes and school
supplies.
β) Using opportuni!es where possible to share the Gospel
and invi!ng people to church.
5) Iden!fy persons in need and personally invite them to take
advantage of this opportunity on August 5, 2017.
• Sign up lists for volunteers will be available soon.
• We encourage church members to immediately begin bringing in
their clothes and supplies. You can turn them in to the Church
Office or contact any member of the Mission Commi)ee (Nancy
Cribb, Coley Greene, Sonja Norris and Russell Wright).
2) Odum Home Needs Drive
TCBC is beginning a partnership with Bap!st Children’s
Homes of North Carolina with a primary focus on Odum Home in
Pembroke, NC. This Odum Home Needs Drive is a targeted, short term
drive to meet as many needs of Odum Home as we can by the !me of
our Vaca!on Bible School (July 9-13). There are four areas of needs
that this drive will focus on—Educa!onal, Personal Care, Recrea!onal,
and Co)age.
The missions offering of this year’s Vaca!on Bible School will
be used to supply educa!onal needs of Odum Home. Sunday School
classes will be asked to par!cipate by supplying needs in the other
three areas. Sunday School classes will be supplied with a specific list
of items that are needed. Each class can collect whatever they feel led
to do, and any amount will be appreciated by Odum Home. Donated
items will need to be turned in by the end of VBS so that all items can
be delivered to Odum Home during the following week.
