Living on campus is an exciting part of the college experience. Living on campus gives students the opportunity to build life-long friendships and also supports academic success. BGSU has an academically based two-year live on requirement. Statistics show that students who live on campus generally have a higher GPA and feel more connected to campus, which can help students stay enrolled in college and graduate in fewer semesters than their off-campus peers.

Congratulations on your admission to Bowling Green State University!

You are ready to take the next step in becoming a BGSU student – signing up for on-campus housing.

The convenience of living on campus provides students easy access to key campus resources such as faculty and academic advisors, the library, computer labs, dining venues, and health and recreation centers. Campus activities and athletics events are just steps from your doorway.

OUR MISSION

The Office of Residence Life promotes an engaging, safe, and inclusive environment for academic success and personal growth through student-centered programs, innovative services, and cost-effective facilities.

OUR DIVERSITY STATEMENT

The Office of Residence Life values and recognizes our responsibility to foster an inclusive, safe, and respectful community so our students succeed in a diverse, global society. We are committed to building an awareness of diverse thoughts, ideas, and experiences on our campus in which our community members are empowered to use their voices and be heard.

“Living on campus is the main reason I got involved on campus. The conversations that I had with my RA and floormates inspired me to join organizations I hadn’t originally considered. Whether it was my Hall Council or the Campus Tour Guides program, I knew there was an organization for me.” Jessee Hankins, Class of 2015

HOW TO LIVE ON CAMPUSBGSU has eight residential complexes on campus for students to choose from, as well as over 30 small-living units designated for fraternity and sorority members. All of our residence halls are supervised by a live-in fulltime Hall Director. The Hall Director, along with the rest of the hall staff, including student Resident Advisors, is always a resource for students and can assist students with academic or personal issues. Hall staff should always be the first point of contact for students (or parents) if they are experiencing any challenges. Residents are encouraged to stay on campus as much as possible to make new friends and get involved in college life.

RESIDENTIAL LEARNING & THEME COMMUNITIES

Living on campus is an exciting part of the college experience. Living on campus gives students the opportunity to build life-long friendships and also supports academic success. BGSU has an academically based two-year live on requirement. Statistics show that students who live on campus generally have a higher GPA and feel more connected to campus, which can helpstudents stay enrolled in college and graduate in fewer semesters than their off-campus peers.

“The benefits of living on campus are endless; it allows you to be within walking distance of everything you need. By being on campus you feel more connected with the BGSU community rather than if you were a commuter. I believe I have more time to study, get involved, meet more people, and stay healthy. Basically, it has made the adjustment to college life much easier.”
