OUR PITCH A brief overview of our video idea and the basic summary of our video

OUR VIDEO IDEA It can be said that at the beginning of the process, our group had to face a number of great suggestions and ideas and this made picking the final ideas for our videos very difficult. We finally decided that for a new and innovative video their where certain aspects of narrative that we needed to include that would benefit the lyrics of the song as well as the tone. Our final video decision idea that we have chosen is the plot of a young girl and the trials of facing an abusive relationship. The video will begin with an action before narrative of the girl laying on the floor beaten and then the audience will experience the downfall of her relationship starting at the good and positive aspects and moving onto the bad and negative side. Throughout the video the audience will be exploring the situation through the protagonists view or stance and will get the experience her mental breakdown and how her twisted version of reality alter her perspective of her partner.

WHY WE CHOSE THIS NARRATIVE One reason for choosing this particular narrative is because its particularly relative within the modern pop culture the relevance of domestic abuse if suddenly coming to the horizon as the increase of female independence and strength now means that women are becoming more powerful.

Another reason for choosing this particular narrative is due to the fact that the lyrics of the song as well as the general tone and title ‘Blind Heart’ suggest that the woman within the video is being smothered by her false emotion and therefore is becoming unaware of the situation that she is facing. This means that for the producers of the video we are able to envelope the protagonists feelings and clearly reflect the emotions of her through the use of cinematography, editing and Mise en scene

GENRE ORIGINALITY All though the topic of domestic abuse is particularly relevant within the modern 21st century, the use of this narrative differs from the normal and expected style and tone you would usually find with EDM music. Stereotypically with this style of song you would expect to see heavily routines dances and light hearted lip synchs as well as extravagant props and settings. This therefore was a conscious decision for us to make as we wanted the narrative to appear original and also be filled with a number of interesting shots as well as unusual styles of editing and therefore this would be helped by having a imaginative video with a clear and consistent storyline that reflects the lyrics as well as the nature of the song.

OUR ORIGINAL SHOT CHOICES > Action before narrative; using exiting shots without explanation before they have been explained within the video. This therefore creates a sense of intrigue within the video and reflects the broken mental state of the protagonist character.
