Dallas Deevers Past Away on January 1, 2018 The Deever’s family hasbeenoneofthemainstayfamiliesofBedford,Ohio.Dallas’brotherRollandwasintheBHSclassof1961 and his brother Robert (Bob) Schroeder in the classof1960. Everyone knows Rollandand knew Bob. Bob was aBedfordfiremanuntilretirement. After celebrating Christmas,New Years Day and his twingrandchildren’s 25th birthdayDallas Richard DeeverspeacefullywenttobewiththeLordonNewYear’s Day 2018 at his family’shomeatLakeTalquin,Florida.Hewasalovingson,brother,father,grandfather and great-grandfather.Dallas graduated from BedfordHigh School in 1958, where hewas an outstanding athlete andcivicleader.HeattendedOhio WesylanwherehewrestleduntilhemarriedJudy Storyandstartedafamily.HewasthesonofRalph and Cynthia DeeversandhelivedinBedfordwithhisthreebrothersandsister,Leroy Deevers, Roland Deevers, Diane Deevers Hillenbrand (deceased)and Robert Schroeder(deceased)at47ElmStreet.TheDeevers’familyweremembers of theBedford First United Methodist Church, nowHope United Methodist Church, and theywere selected as theMethodist family of the year in 1956, traveling toChicagofortheMethodistConvention. Dallaswasalwayswillingtolendahandtoanyoneinneed,whichhisfatherandmotherinstilledinthefamily.DallaswasamemberoftheBedfordFireDepartment,hewasinvolvedincivicactivitiesattheYMCA,whichhecontinuedtosupportformanyyearsinFlorida.Dallaswas a Bedford resident until he transferred from Cleveland Electric Illuminating to take apositionwithFloridaPowerandLightCompany.DallasleftBedfordafterbeingstrandedinaverynastysnowstormwithhisyoungfamilyduringthewinterof1961,buthereturnedoftentovisitwithfamilyandfriendsandheattendedseveralBedfordHighSchoolClassreunions. Dallaswasafunlovingandintenseindividual.HetaughthiskidstoswimattheYMCAinFt.LauderdaleFloridaandbothhischildrenwerescubadivingandwaterskiingbytheageof7and5respectively.Heremainedactiveinsports,playinghandballandhewasanationallyrankedplayer.HandballforDallaswasliketennisforhisfather,Ralph,neitheroneofthemcould stand to lose. Dallas was an extraordinary grandfather and great grandfather, heremainedactiveinthelivesofhisgrandchildrenandgreatgrandchildrenincludingparticipatinginafterschoolsports,attendingschoolfunctionsandchaperoningfieldtrips,andprovidingallmanner of transportation. Dallas once brought five of his grandchildren toBedford in thesleepercompartmentofhisSemi,Truck,thekidsenjoyedpotatochips,donutsandcocacolaonthe24-hourdriveandallmanneroffun.AfterretiringfromFPL,hedrovelocalandlonghaulasanindependentoperator. Dallaswas77atthetimeofhispassing.Heleavesbehindhisformerlovingwife,Judy,his two brothers, LeRoy and Roland Deevers, a daughter, son in law and son, sevengrandchildren,andninegreatgrandchildren.AcelebrationoflifewasheldattheCentenaryUnitedMethodistChurchChapelonJanuary26,2018at206N.MadisonStreet,Quincy,Fl.Hisasheswillbelaidtorestwith;hisparentsCynthia&RalphDeevers,andsisterCynthiaDianeHillenbrandinTransfer,Pennsylvanialatterintheyear.

OverthepastsixdecadestherehasbeenmuchchaosintheAmericanCulture.Inthepastfiveyearsithascometoaheadasseeninthedivisivesplitwithinourpolitics.Whatiscausingsomuchdivision?Whyaresomanyofusat loggerheadswitheachother?Whycan’tourCongressionalleaderstalktoeachotherinacivilmanner?Thereisareasonforthis,namely,wearelivinginatimeof“Social Engineering”. ManyofusgrewupinatimewhenbeliefinGodwasafundamentalvalue.Inoureyes,GodwasanAllPowerfulBeingwhohadalong-termrelationshipwithAmerica.God’smoralpreceptswereaguidingforceonhowwelivedourlives.RightandWrongweredeterminedastohowwefollowedtheTenCommandments.Wecelebratedreligiousholidaysasanation.Itwasvirtuoustobeamemberofareligiouscongregation. They replaced the TenCommandmentswithPoliticalCorrectness.Theytooktheword“discrimination”andchangeditsmeaning.Theyusedittoattackourmoralvalues,andtoreplacethemwiththeirownimmoralideas.TheyinfiltratedtheAmericanUniversities,theNewsMedia,theMovieIndustry,andourGovernmentwiththeirconstituents.TheymadeitUn-Americantoexpressanyreligiousvaluesinourschools,inourgovernmentassemblies,inourworkplace,andeveninourentertainmentindustry.TheyattackedallestablishedReligionswithavehemenceunheardof inAmericanHistory.ThentheyblamedReligiouspeopleforalltheproblemsinourcountry.TheyfinallytoldusthatGodhasnoplaceinAmerica.Nowtheytrytopasslawsforbiddingreligiouspeopletopracticetheirbeliefsinpublic.Theendresultisadivisionofournationintotwofactions,the“FarLeft”andthe“FarRight”.Whathappenedtothemiddleground? Inrecentmonths,manyAmericanshavebeguntorebelagainstthistyranny.The“FarLeft”isbeginningtorealizethatallpeopledonotthinkastheydo.This“FarLeft” isrunningintooppositionfromthesilentmajoritywhobelieveinGod.The“FarLeft”arenowfightingfortheirverylifestyle.Theydon’twanttoadmitthatpeoplehavevaluesotherthantheirs,sotheyusetheirNewsMedia,theirUniversities,theirMovieStars,andtheirGovernmentofficialstomutethissilentmajority.Asaresultofthismovement,Americancultureissharplydivided. WhatistheroleofReligiousindividualsinthisdividedculture?NowisthetimeforourSilentMajoritytotakeastand,butthisactioncannotbedonewithviolenceorlies.Wemustusethetime-testedstrategyofprayerandexample.We must pray to God every day for our country.Wemustpracticeourmoralvaluesineverydaylife.Wemusttalkaboutourreligiousbeliefstothosewhowilllisten.Wemustbereadytobemockedbythosewhodon’tacceptourviews.Wemust,nomatterhowpainful,“lovethosewhopersecuteus”.WemustconquerouroppositionbyshowingthemthereisanotherwayoflivinginAmerica:a way that is based on love of God and love of neighbor.WemustputthesefundamentalvaluesbackintoourSociety. Yes, there is division in America, but it can be solved! Let us do our part to make America what our Founding Fathers intended it to be: “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.

ItwasPresident’sDay,1998,thatImadethemostmindless,carelessmistakeofmylife.Garbage day in Oakwood Village goes out byMondaymorning, typically, but because ofPresident’sDay,itdidn’thavetobeoutuntilTuesdaymorning.Mondaynight,IwasinahurrytotakethegarbageoutsoIcouldgetinsidetowatchmyfavoritetelevisionshowatthetime,MelrosePlace,andcarelesslyleftthegateunlatched.Tuesdaymorning,Iletmydog,Wiley,outtogopottyandunbeknownsttome,thegatehadblownopenandheescapedfrommybackyard.IwenttocallhiminandmyheartsankwhenIsawthegatewasopen.Panicked,Ibeganmysearchforhim,whichwouldlastninefulldays.Irancopiesofflyerswithhispictureand a $100 reward for his safe return and posted them everywhere. I canvassed theneighborhoodandputtheflyersineveryscreendoorwithinamileradiusofmyhouse. Ireceivedatleasttwenty-fivecallsaboutloosedogsintheneighborhood,allofwhichwerenotmydog.Enroutetoeachsighting,IbegantotalktoGod.God,whoIdidn’tknow,didn’treallycareabout,andwhoIcertainlywasn’tlivingfor.Allofasudden,whenIwasdesperateandhadexhaustedeveryresourceIhad,Ifinallyresortedtoprayer.Iwouldsay,“OK,God,IwouldnotbegettingstoppedateveryredlightifthiswasgoingtobeWiley”.Sureenough,Iwouldgetstoppedbyeveryredlightonthewaytoanswereverycallforeveryloosedogineverysurroundingcityforanentireweek. Finally,aftersevendaysofwildgoosechases,myhopeofeverseeingmybeloveddogagainwasquicklydiminishing.Thiswasmyfirstdogasanadultandanyonethatisananimalloverandcanrelatetotheunconditionalloveapethasforit’sowner,understandstheheartwrenchingpainIwasin.IwascryingsohardthatnightthatIwentoutsidetogetsomefreshair.Isatonmybackstairsandlookeduptotheskyandsaid“God,ifyouarereal,andYoureallydoexist,proveit,andbringmydogbacktomeandIpromiseifYoudo,IwillreadtheentireBiblefronttoback.” Twodayslater,Thursday,February26,1998,Ireceivedacallat11:00p.m.Ayoungmaninsistedheheardmydogbarkingoutsidehishouse,justablockaway,soIranout,grabbedhisFrisbeeandjumpedonmybike,notwantingtowastetimefindingcarkeys.IpedaledasfastasIcouldandwhenIgottotheintersectionofPettiboneRd.andBroadwayAve.,thelightwasred,andmyheartstopped.Ireachedforthebrakeandthesecondmyhandtouchedthelever,thelightturnedgreen!EveryhaironmyentirebodystoodonendandinthatmomentintimeIknewthatGodnotonlyknewme,butHewasrighttherewithmeduringmywholeordeal.IknewIwasgoinghomewithmydogthatnight! Sureenough,theyoungmanmetmeinhisdrivewaywithaflashlightsoIgrabbeditandjumpedoffofmybike.MylegswerelikerubberandIcouldhardlywalkasImademywaytowardthepitch-blackbackyard.Iyelledintothenight,“Wiley,boy,getyourFrisbee!”IthrewtheFrisbeeintothebackyardandfolloweditwiththeflashlight.Isawtwoeyesflashbackatmefromthereflectionoftheflashlightandrantowardthem.TherewasmyWileyjumpingandjumpingontheothersideofachainlinkfencetryingtogettome.Irantothefenceandwithsuperhumanstrength,Iliftedithighenoughforhimtocrawlunderandcometome.Ifelltomykneesandjustkeptsaying“Thankyou,Jesus,thankyou,Jesus!”asmydogjumpedallovermeandlickedmyface. IstartedreadingtheBiblethenextday.IwasscaredthatifIdidn’tstartreadingItafterthepromiseImade,mydogcouldrunawayagainandthistimeGodwouldn’tbelieveanydealIwouldtrytomake.IspentthenextyearreadingandresearchingwhatIreadbecauseifthisweretrulytheWordofGod,thenIwasgoingtohavetomakealotofchangesinmylife.ItseemedeverythingtheBiblesaystodo,Iwasn’tdoingandeverythingItsaysnottodo,Iwasdoing.ThemoreIread,themore Ibelieved,and themore Ibelieved, themore Ichanged. It has been a greatpleasure to learn from their marriages – both different, bothenriching.Myin-lawswerealotliketheCleaversandmyfolksmoreliketheBunkers.Theirmarriagesweregreatexamplesofagenerationthatstuckitoutingoodtimesandbad,unlikenowwhenmarriageseemsdisposable.Ialwaystellyoungcouplestodaythatmarriageisthehardestthingtheywilleverdo.IjokethatmythreesiblingsandIhaveallstayedmarriedinthemostdifficult of times because, being Italian Catholics, we wereraisedtobemiserableinmarriage.But,wewerealsoraisedtoalwayshavehope.Iwatchmyfather-in-lawJohnslumpedinextremegriefatthefuneralofhissweetEdie.HehaddutifullyspentalargepartofeverydayoverthelastthreeyearsattheFiveStarHomewhereshelived.HermemorywasdepletedasshespokemainlyGermanandhummedtoherself often. Which brings us to the post-January 2017 President Trump Tweet-trap intelligenceoperation.PresidentTrump,likeanyspy-master,looksforhisasset’sgreatestweakness.Inthiscase,PresidentTrumpconcludedKimJong-Un’sgreatestweaknesswashispersonalvanity. Once President Trump saw Kim’s “vanity-weakness,” he exploited it by tweetingpersonallynasty commentsagainst theNorthKorean lunatic. Thispredictably caused theNorthKoreanleadertohaveto“prove”howstrongandmanlyhereallywas.USintelligencespenttensofbillionsofdollarsandpayshundredsof“experts”tostudyNorthKorea’snuclearandmissilecapability,andtheygot itcatastrophicallywrong. Meanwhile,PresidentTrumpwith nothing but his New York real estate smarts and his tweeter feed delivered the realintelligenceofstateofNorthKorea’snucleararsenal. Asanaside,whatwasPresidentTrumpsupposedtotweet-backtoKimJong-Un’s“nuclearbuttononthetable”remark?AnythingPresidentTrumptweetedwouldhavebeenderidedbytheTrump-haters.Trumpisinano-winhate-Trump-at-all-costssituation.Hadhenottweetedbackatall,theLeftwouldhaverailedthatPresidentTrumpwasbestedbyhisowntweetinggame,andshowedfatalweakness.What the mainstream lemmings didn’t understand was they were actively interfering with President Trump’s ongoing intelligence operation.
