Permasense Site Installation Tasks
Task: Responsible:Software installation Permasense Engineer/ local site IT professional
Prerequisites: Time allocated:- IT solution agreed and implemented 0.5 Days
- Server/ PC selected
- Administrator login access available to the above
- Availability of local site IT professional
Overview:
Administrator access is required to fully install the Permasense software. If firewalls are in place,certain ports may be required to be opened in order to allow the Permasense system to function.
Task: Responsible:Gateway and port server configuration Permasense Engineer
and commissioning
Prerequisites: Time allocated:
- Gateway installed and connected 0.5 Days- Relevant permits to access gateway + port
server locations
Overview:Can be carried out remotely or at the equipment location. Your Permasense Engineer will advise
which option is applicable to your installation.
Task: Responsible:
Sensor installation training Permasense Engineer/ site installation crew
Prerequisites: Time allocated:- Availability of selected site installation crew 0.5 Days
- Availability of classroom/ office/ workshop
Overview:Theory and practical aspects discussed, hence locations where hearing protection is NOT required
are strongly preferred to enable clear communication.

Task: Responsible:System validation – wireless connectivity Permasense Engineer
Prerequisites: Time allocated:- Permasense software installed 0.5 Days
- Sensors installed at desired locations
- Availability of spare sensors for use as
repeaters, if required – access to units may be also required
Overview:Your Permasense Engineer will assess wireless mesh signal strengths. Spare sensors can be used as
wireless signal repeaters if necessary, in order to build a suitably robust network.
Task: Responsible:Sensor installation - field certification Site installation crew
Prerequisites: Time allocated:- Studs installed at sensor locations 1.5 Days
- Availability of site installation crew
- Low energy/ hot work permit to enable
laptop use at all sensor locations
Overview:Permasense Support Engineer in attendance while site installation crew carry out Permasense
sensor installation. Additional training provided in practical installation techniques, as required.
Upon successful completion crew members will be certified, and competent to carry out futuresensor installation without the presence of a Permasense Engineer.

End-user system training Permasense Engineer/ End user(s)
Prerequisites: Time allocated:- Permasense system installed and validated 0.5 Days
- Availability of End user(s) at their PC(s)
Overview:Introduction, familiarisation and explanation of the Permasense Data Manager data viewing software;
it’s features, use and benefits. Including data case studies and interesting data trend examples.
