The answer is yes, if one is searching for peace through science, wealth, weapons of war, lust of the flesh, the pride of life or false religion. Why? Because they are going to the wrong source for true, genuine peace! Jeremiah said, “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his own steps” (Jer. 10:23). Isaiah prophesied of a covenant of peace (lsa. 54:10). The One that established this covenant of peace is Christ, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (lsa. 9:6). Christ came to establish peace. When the angel told the shepherds “for unto you is born this day in the city of David a saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Lk. 2:11-14). Came died on the cross to establish peace. “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us” (Eph. 2:13-14). All accountable people are separated from God because of sin (lsa. 59:1-2; Rom. 3:23). Only when one reaches the soul-cleansing blood of Christ are their sins forgiven. Paul informs the alien sinner who believes in Christ (Jno. 8:24), has repented of their sins (Acts 2:38), confessed Christ (Acts 8:36-37) how and when the blood of Christ cleanses their sins. “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:3-4). “Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness” (Rom. 6:18). O happy day when one has peace with God (Eph. 2:12-14) and peace within (I Pet. 3:21) as they “walk in the light” (I Jno. 1:7), the blood of Christ continually cleanses them of sin! The faithful child of God is never alone” . . . I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb. 13:5b). It is truly consoling to know” ... the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7). God called Abraham a father of many nations, when as yet he had no children. He calls those things which be not as though they were, because He is going to bring these things to pass. The beast, (The Roman Empire), is about to receive her judgment, so God declares her fall even before it transpires. He declares those things which be not as though they were, “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven … Saying with a loud voice, Fear God … for the hour of his judgment is come … And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication” (Revelation 14:6-8). Revelation chapter 14 opens with the Lamb, and all his faithful servant, (The 144,000), singing a new song (Revelation 14:1-5). It is a song of victory, because the beast, (The Roman Empire), is about to fall. Those who serve the beast will die with her, and will be tormented for ever and ever (Revelation 14:9-11). Knowing this, the servants of God are now encouraged to remain faithful, because they are going to be the victors, even if they lose their own physical life, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them” (Revelation 14:12-13). It is now time for the earth to be reaped, and for the clusters of the vine of the earth to be cast into the winepress of the wrath of Almighty God, and then to be trodden under foot (Revelation 14:14-19). The slaughter of the beast, and her allies, is likened unto a river of blood, “And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horses bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs” (Revelation 14:20). As the seven trumpets signaled the judgments against the Jewish Economy (Revelation 8:6), now the seven golden vials, (bowls), signal God’s wrath being poured out in judgment against the Roman Economy, “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God” (Revelation 15:1), and, “And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials, (bowls), full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever” (Revelation 15:7). Chapter 15, like chapter 14, opens with all the faithful servants of God singing hymns of praise, and victory, for that which is about to come to pass, the judgment against the Roman Empire and her allies, “Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest” (Revelation 15:4, also read v2-3). Until the judgment is ended, no one can enter into the temple of God (Revelation 15:5 and v8).
