COMM1 Bug fixing in the DNP protocol: Status signals were no more reported twice. For Px3x devices there are two kinds of DNP3 Binary Inputs. The first group is reported spontaneously from the protection or control application software, and from this report the value and timestamp are sent to the communication unit. The second group has no spontaneous report, only a static value which is polled cyclically and updated on the communication unit only if changed (for example the physical states of the LED's, binary opto-coupler inputs and relay outputs). In the previous protocol implementation some events were sent twice to the communication unit, by both methods mentioned above, but with different time stamps.

Hardware The new hardware variants now offer, per ordering option, additional operate thresholds for the binary signal inputs:
>18 V (standard variant) (no order ext. No.)
>90 V (60...70% of VA,nom = 125...150 V) (Order ext. No. 461)
>155 V (60...70% of VA,nom = 220..0.250 V) (Order ext. No. 462)
Installation of the standard variant is generally recommended if the application does not specifically require such binary signal inputs with higher operate thresholds.
The Ethernet communication module interface is now also available for the P631, P632 and P633.

Software
UCA2 Implementation of the UCA2 communication protocol in the P631, P632 and P633.
Extension to all 4 devices of the expanded spontaneous signaling range initially implemented in the P634-604. In addition, GOOSE messages and fault transmission are now supported.
SFMON If the same fault is detected after a warm restart has been triggered by the self-monitoring system (with no resetting of the alarm buffer since first entry), then the protective functions remained blocked (please also refer to chapters 3.13 [Self monitoring] and 10 [Troubleshooting] of the manual). This reaction has been changed in that way, that blocking now takes place only if the repeated occurrence of the fault takes place within a settable retention time (021 018 S F M O N M o n . s i g . r e t e n t i o n ). Thus it is possible, to tolerate sporadic faults without the necessity to reset the alarm buffer in between. For this improvement, the meaning of the time tag of the entry of the fault in the warning buffer had to be changed. Now, the date and time of the latest fault occurrence is memorised.
DIFF The saturation discriminator was further improved.

Hardware The new hardware variants now offer, per ordering option, additional operating thresholds for the binary signal inputs:
>18 V (standard variant) (no order ext. No.)
>90 V (60...70% of VA,nom = 125...150 V) (Order ext. No. 461)
>155 V (60...70% of VA,nom = 220..0.250 V) (Order ext. No. 462)
>73 V (67% of VA,nom = 110 V) (new) (Order ext. No. 463)
>146 V (67% of VA,nom = 220 V) (new) (Order ext. No. 464)
Installation of the standard variant is generally recommended if the application does not specifically require such binary signal inputs with higher operating thresholds.
A DSP coprocessor is now available as ordering option. This coprocessor provides enhanced features and overall better performance of the supplementary functions of the device. It is a prerequisit for using the new CT supervision function (CTS).

Software Note: Software version –606 is compatible to all previous hardware versions.
COMM1 Bug fixing in the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol:
o Support of the 7-byte time tag length has been corrected C O M M 1 T i m e t a g l e n g t h = ‚7 Byte’ (003 198).
o Transmission of negative cyclic measured values has been corrected.
o Acknowledgment of the general scan command has been corrected.
o Signals in the general scan are now transmitted correctly without a time tag.
o Command rejections issued internally by the protection device (between the processor module and communication module) are no longer signaled by the communication interface.
o Commands are now transmitted correctly, even when the ASDU address length is 2 byte C O M M 1 A d d r e s s l e n g t h A S D U = ‚2 Byte’ (003 193).
Bug fixing in the Courier protocol: Upon activation of Courier protocol a warm restart of the device was initiated.
MAIN Priority control of clock synchronisation is now settable.
Positive and negative sequence currents are now continuously calculated and displayed as per unit and primary metering values.
The functionality of virtual windings has been extended. Beside Addition of 2 windings it is now also possible to sum up currents of 3 windings and to subtract currents of 2 windings.

SFMON In the course of platform harmonisation the configuration table of the user defined alarm condition has been accomplished by the instantaneous and timed outputs 30…32(t) of the programmable LOGIC:
098 053 SFMON Output 30 ~ 042 090 LOGIC Output 30
098 054 SFMON Output 30 (t) ~ 042 091 LOGIC Output 30 (t)
098 055 SFMON Output 31 ~ 042 092 LOGIC Output 31
098 056 SFMON Output 31 (t) ~ 042 093 LOGIC Output 31 (t)
098 057 SFMON Output 32 ~ 042 094 LOGIC Output 32
098 058 SFMON Output 32 (t) ~ 042 095 LOGIC Output 32 (t)
These signals can be used to create alarm signals under complex application conditions. This signaling has no influence on the device operation (i.e. no warm restart or blocking of the device takes place).
FT_RC The recording duration for binary tracks is now limited to 1 minute in order to prevent recording of endless events.
OL_RC, FT_RC
Overload and fault recording now use the same list of binary signals that might be entered into those records.
DIFF Setting ranges of the tripping characteristic slopes m1 and m2 have been extended down to 0.10 (previous limit: 0.15).
Saturation discriminator starting condition has been modified in that way that secondary injection tests of differential protection with conventional test sets (which do not provide correct transient signals) is possible again.
Along with the new CTS function, an additional threshold Idiff>(CTS) is provided to de-sensitise differential protection in case of a failure in the CT secondary circuit. For more details about this feature please refer to CTS description.
Bug fixing: In few cases the inrush stabilisation did not operate properly. Also sometimes the inrush signaling was not immediately reset in case of correct differential trips.
REF_1 REF_2 REF_3
Along with the new CTS function it is user settable, whether the REF protection for the faulty end is blocked or not. For more details about this feature please refer to CTS functional description.
CTS First implementation of a current transformer secondary wiring supervision function which operates fast enough to prevent differential protection from tripping under load in case of a CT failure. This function can only be used if the new processor board with DSP coprocessor is fitted!
MCM_1 MCM_2 MCM_3 MCM_4
The existing measuring circuit monitoring functions which are based on the phase currents per end got enhanced to use them for broken conductor protection applications.

GSSE In conjunction with the IEC 61850 communication protocol a communication procedure has been implemented that is compatible with previous UCA2 GOOSE for the exchange of binary information within an Ethernet network section.
GOOSE For the exchange of binary information in an Ethernet network section the IEC 61850 communication procedure (IEC-GOOSE) has been implemented.
UCA2 The substation communication protocol per UCA2 standard is not supported with this firmware version.
MAIN Phase reversal logic is now available. This feature allows that the phase reversal switch in motor/generator applications can be located inside the protection zone of the transformer differential relay.
The vector group numbers of the power transformer are now settable per parameter subset. This feature can be used in protection of phase angle regulating transformers.
Bug fixing: The trip signals of the 3 measuring systems (e.g. 041.002 D I F F T r i p s i g n a l 1 ) were falsely instantaneously raised, regardless of the set trip delay time. (Note: 041.075 D I F F T r i p s i g n a l was correctly timed.)

DIFF Bug fixing: In versions -606 to -610 inrush signaling from all three measuring systems was suppressed when harmonic blocking in measuring system 1 was triggered. This was not accompanied by tripping. Nevertheless there was the possibility of an overreaction (tripping) when an inrush condition was not recognized by one measuring system with the operating mode set to "Not phase-selective" and in an other measuring system the second harmonic component reached a value of approximately between 70% and 130% of the fundamental.
FT_DA Bug fixing: The fault data for F T _ D A F a u l t c u r r . I Y , b p . u . (026 088) were mistakenly calculated on the basis of current IY,a.

IEC The data model of the measured operating values for differential current and restraining current in the functions DIFF and REF_n is now implemented according to the data attributes for the standard WYE, ACT and ACD classes.
Note: With this implementation, the "phase" measured values from the DIFF protection functions correspond to the measured values of the three measuring systems: "phSA" = Measuring system 1 "phSB" = Measuring system 2 "phSC" = Measuring system 3
Accordingly the measured values from the REF_n protection functions are modeled as "neut".
ICD and PICS-MICS-ADL files have been upgraded accordingly.

DIFF The starting condition for the saturation discriminator has been enhanced by the addition of a further minimum condition for the restraining quantity with basic filtering. Without this minimum condition, the saturation discriminator could be incorrectly triggered during the test of a characteristic using virtual test signals in the absence of a preload current.
REF_1 to REF_3
Blocking of the REF functions while the DIFF protection (functional enhancement by -611-715) has been triggered can now be enabled or disabled using setting parameters. Furthermore the REF_n: Blocking EXT binary signal input functions are now available to allow for a more flexible application of the functions. Since operational readiness is no longer solely depending on the device setting, its state is also signaled: REF_n: Ready (= enabled AND NOT blocked).
REF_1 The function has been enhanced so that further ends can be included into the protection zone, e.g. to provide ground differential protection for autotransformers (‘Autotransformer Wrap-around Differential’).
CBF_1 to CBF_4
As an option, the undercurrent criterion can now also be used with the residual current.
The external function startup may now occur either when only the undercurrent criterion is applied or also with the CB contact position criterion.

IEC Upon receiving a "Cancel" command while a switchgear device is selected, a positive acknowledgement response ("Ack OK") is sent. Previously, a "Negative ack" was sent.
Bug fixing: If single-pole signals of function group SIG_1 were active during device startup, this could lead to an aborted initialization of the Ethernet communication module.
Bug fixing: If clients did connect to the device immediately after completion of Ethernet communication module startup, this could lead to the temporary erroneous reporting of default values for the external device status (DEVxx) and of the single-pole signals (SIG_1).
Bug fixing: During the process of connection with clients that use the "IntegrityPeriod" option, sporadically the MMS communication of the Ethernet communication module would crash without an internal monitoring response to re-establish the functionality. (GOOSE messaging and other communication tasks were not affected.)
Bug fixing: Reports of events could get lost, if too many state changes occurred in a short period of time, especially during secondary injection testing.
Bug fixing: If during device startup one of the configured inputs of function group SIG_1 is active, the initialisation of the Ethernet communication module may have failed.
