It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser of Trojan products to read the owner’s manual, warning labels and instruct all individuals, on proper usage of the equipment. Understanding each and every warning to the fullest is important. HEALTH WARNING

• Before starting any exercise or conditioning program you should consult with your personal physician to see if you require a complete physical exam. This is especially important if you are inactive, pregnant or suffer from any illness.

PROPER USAGE

• Do not use the equipment in any way other than as designed or intended by the manufacturer. It is imperative that Trojan equipment is used properly to avoid injury.

• Injuries may result from exercising improperly or excessively.• Your Trojan equipment should only be used by one person at a time.• Be careful to maintain your balance while using, mounting, dismounting or assembling your Trojan

equipment to avoid injury.• Do not attempt to adjust the seat or handlebars while you are on your Trojan equipment.• Servicing other than the procedures in this manual should be performed by an authorised service

representative only.

INSPECTION

• Do not use or permit use of any equipment that is damaged or has worn or broken parts. • For all Trojan equipment use only replacement parts supplied by Trojan.• Always make sure that all nuts and bolts are tightened prior to each use.• Maintain labels and nameplates – do not remove labels for any reason. They contain important

information.• Equipment maintenance – preventative maintenance is the key to smooth operating equipment. Please

ensure that you follow our maintenance tips to ensure the continued correct function of your Trojan equipment.

• Before any use, examine all accessories approved for use with the Trojan equipment for damage or wear.• Should your Trojan equipment appear damaged or worn, do not attempt to use or repair the equipment

yourself.• Please contact our service department on 0861 TROJAN (0861 876526) to arrange a repair.

STEP 1: STABILISERS AND PEDAL ASSEMBLY

• Position the Front Stabiliser (2) in front of the Main Frame (1) and align the bolt holes. Insert two Bolts (22) and tighten in place with two Big Curved Washers (23) and two Cap Nuts (24).

• Position the Rear Stabiliser (3) behind the Main Frame (1) and align bolt holes. Insert the two Bolts (22) and tighten with two Big Curved Washers (23) and two Cap Nuts (24).

• Insert the Left Foot Pedal (36L) into threaded hole of the in the left Crank Shaft and finger thread it in by turning it in a counter-clockwise direction.

• Insert the Right Foot Pedal (37R) into threaded hole of the in the right Crank Shaft and finger thread it in by turning it in a clockwise direction.

Note: Only tighten the Foot Pedals (36L / 37R) once both pedals are in the Crank Shaft.Note: The Cranks and Foot Pedals are marked “R” for Right and “L” for Left.

STEP 2: SEAT POST, SEAT POST COVER AND SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

• Slide the Seat Post Cover (48) over the back tube of the Main Frame (1).• Insert the Seat Post (5) into the Main Frame (1) and insert the Seat Post Knob (46) into the tube of the Main

Frame (1) to lock the Seat Post (5) into position. Note: When adjusting the height of Seat Post (5), do not exceed the maximum height mark. • Remove the three Nylon Nuts (54) and three Washers (53) from the underside of the Seat Cushion (56).• Attach the Seat Cushion (56) onto the triangle plate of the Seat Sliding Tube (63) and secure with the three

previously removed Nylon Nuts (54) and three Washers (53). • Remove the Round Knob (65) and Washer (53) from the underside of the Seat Sliding Tube (63). • Slide the Seat Sliding Tube (63) onto the Seat Post (5) and secure with the previously removed Round Knob

(65) and Washer (53).

ASSEMBLY STEPS

STEP 3: HANDLEBAR POST AND TENSION CONTROL ASSEMBLY

• Remove the four Bolts (15) and the four Washers (23) from the Main Frame (1). • Slide the Handlebar Post Cover (25) over the Handlebar Post (7).• Insert the Tension Cable (16) through the bottom hole of Handlebar Post (7) and pull up and out of the

opening on the Handlebar Post (7).• Connect the Sensor Wire (26) from the Main Frame (1) into the Extension Sensor Wire (20) in the

Handlebar Post (7). • Insert the Handlebar Post (7) onto the tube of the Main Frame (1) and secure with four previously

removed Bolts (15) and four Washers (23). • Slide the Handlebar Post Cover (25) down the Handlebar Post (7) to the bottom of the post.• Remove the Bolt (19) and the Big Washer (18) from the Tension Control Knob (17).• Put the cable end of resistance cable of Tension Control Knob (17) into the spring hook of Tension

Cable (16) as shown in drawing A. • Pull the resistance cable of Tension Control Knob (17) up and force it into the gap of metal bracket of

Tension Cable (16) as shown in drawing B. • Attach the Tension Control Knob (17) into the Handlebar Post (7) using the previously removed Bolt

(19) and Big Washer (18).

STEP 4: HANDLEBAR INSTALLATION

• Remove the two Bolts (15) and two Curved Washers (14) from the Handlebar Post (7).• Insert the Hand Pulse Sensor Wires (10) into the opening on the Handlebar Post (7) and feed them up

and out the top of the Handlebar Post (7). • Attach the Handlebar (6) onto the Handlebar Post (7) using the previously removed two Bolts (15) and

two Curved Washers (14).

STEP 5: COMPUTER INSTALLATION

• Remove the four Screws (9) from the back of the Console (8). • Connect the Hand Pulse Sensor Wires (10) and Extension Sensor Wire (20) to the wires that are at the

bottom of the Console (8) and tuck the wires into the Handlebar Post (7). • Attach the Console (8) onto the plate of the Handlebar Post (7) with the previously removed Screws.

MODE:Press the “MODE” button to select the different function readouts. Hold the “MODE” button for 3 seconds to reset the TIME, DISTANCE and CALORIES.

AUTO ON/OFF & AUTO START/STOP: The Console will turn on automatically if you start peddling or press the “MODE” button. Should there be no activity on the exercise bike, the Console will turn off automatically.

SCAN:Press the “MODE” button until the “▼” appears on SCAN. The Console will rotate through all the functions and display each function for 6 seconds. TIME, SPEED, DISTANCE, PULSE, CALORIE and ODO.

SPEED:Press the “MODE” button until the “▼” appears on SPEED. This will measure the current speed of the workout.

DISTANCE (DIST):Press the “MODE” button until the “▼” appears on DIST. This will measure the total distance of the workout from start to end.

TIME:Press the “MODE” button until the “▼” appears on TIME. This will measure the total time of the workout from start to end.

TOTAL DISTANCE (ODO):Press the “MODE” button until the “▼” appears on ODO. This will measure the total distance after installing the batteries into the console.

CALORIES (CAL):Press the “MODE” button until the “▼” appears on CAL. This will measure the total calories of the workout from start to end.

PULSE RATE:Press MODE button until “▼” appears on PULSE. This will measure your current heart rate provided you are holding both the Heart Rate Sensors for at least 3-4 seconds. This will show your current heart beat rate per minute.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO REMOVE BATTERY:

• Remove the battery cover and place two of AA batteries into battery housing on back of the Console. • Ensure the batteries are correctly positioned and that there is the correct contact between the batteries

and the springs. • Replace battery cover ensuring that it is correctly replaced.• If the display is illegible or is partially displaying the readout, remove batteries and wait 15 seconds before

reinstalling.Note: Removing the batteries will erase computer memory.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANINGThe Trojan Pace 375 Exercise Bike can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents on plastic parts. Please wipe your perspiration off the Trojan Pace 375 Exercise Bike after each use. Be careful not to get excessive moisture on the console as this might cause an electrical hazard or electronics to fail.

Please keep the Trojan Pace 375 Exercise Bike, especially the Console, out of direct sunlight to prevent screen damage.

Please inspect all assembly bolts and pedals on the machine for proper tightness before use.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1. The Exercise Bike wobbles when in use.• Turn the adjustable leveler on the rear stabiliser as needed to level the Exercise Bike

Q2. There is no display on the Console.• Remove the Console and verify the wires that come from the Console are properly connected to the

wires that come from the Handlebar Post.• Check if the batteries are correctly positioned and battery springs are in proper contact with batteries.• The batteries in the console may be dead. Change to new batteries.

Q3. There is no heart rate reading or heart rate reading is erratic / inconsistent.• Make sure that the wire connections for the hand pulse sensors are secure.• To ensure the pulse readout is more precise, please always hold on to the handlebar grip sensors with two

hands instead of just with one hand.• You are gripping the hand pulse sensors too tight. Try to maintain moderate pressure while holding onto

the hand pulse sensors.Note:

do move your hands while exercising, give the computer a few seconds to re-sample and display your correct heart pulse rate.

Q4. Maintenance and cleaning.• Use a clean, damp, soft rag to clean the surface.• Use a mild detergent to clean the dirty spots.• Do not use a steel brush or abrasive cloth to clean the surface.• Immediately after exercise wipe off any sweat from the surface of the equipment. Perspiration contains salt

which could ruin the equipment.

AEROBIC EXERCISEAerobic exercise is any sustained activity that sends oxygen to your muscles via your heart and lungs. Aerobic

beats quickly and you breathe deeply. An aerobic exercise should form part of your entire exercise routine.

WEIGHT TRAININGAlong with aerobic exercising which helps get rid of and keep off the excess fat that our bodies can store, weight training is an essential part of the exercise routine process. Weight training helps tone, build and strengthen muscle. If you are working above your target zone, you may want to do a lesser amount of reps. Always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.

CONDITIONING GUIDELINES

How you begin your exercise program depends on your physical condition. If you have been inactive for several years, or are severely overweight, you must start slowly and increase your time on the equipment; a few minutes per workout.

WARM UP & COOL DOWN

SUGGESTED STRETCHESThe correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch, hold the position and never bounce.

1. Toe Touch StretchStand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts, and then relax. Repeat 3 times. Stretches: Hamstrings, back of knees and back.

2. Hamstring Stretch Sit with one leg extended. Bring the sole of the opposite foot toward you and rest it against the inner thigh of your extended leg. Reach toward your toes as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts, and then relax. Repeat 3 times for each leg. Stretches: Hamstrings, lower back and groin.

3. Calf/Achilles StretchWith one leg in front of the other, reach forward and place your hands against a wall. Keep your back leg straight and your back foot

REPAIRS PROCEDURE

Should you experience any faults or breakdowns on your Trojan equipment, please adhere to the following procedure to have

• Do not return the product to the store.* • Call the Trojan Call Centre on 0861 TROJAN (0861 876526) to log the faulty product (under warranty or out of warranty).• The operator or technical advisor will try identify the fault, and will book a service team call out.• Only if the fault cannot be repaired in the convenience of your home, will the service team take the faulty product back to the service centre. • Items repaired in our service centre will be returned to your home on an agreed date and time.

* NOTE: Should you live in an outlying area, it may be necessary to return the product to the store nearest to you. Our service operator will advise you of your repair procedure.

Cost of Repairs

Under warranty• Any items still under warranty will be repaired free of charge, as long as it complies with the terms and conditions of the
