The equestrian statue of King Karl X Gustav, who took Skåne from the Danes through the Roskilde Treaty of 1658, stands in the midst of the largest square in Malmö. Stortorget became Malmö's new marketplace and was the largest city square in Northern Europe for a very long time. Kockska huset, one of the most well-preserved 16th century buildings in Malmö, is of red brick with a richly ornamented stepped gable. The City Hall, finished in 1546, has undergone major changes over the centuries. In the 1860s, Helgo Zettervall redesigned the façade in the Dutch Renaissance style, much of which remains today. The Residence, the pale stuccoed building next to the City Hall, is now the home of the County Governor. The present façade dating from the 1850s was built in 17th century Renaissance style by one of the most prominent architects of the day, F.W. Scholander. Discover the architecture and museums which are famous all over the world. We recommend you to start by visiting the Town Hall a good place to start exploration in any direction. Noble statues stand at its entry, on its roof and inside, where, among others, the writer Hans Christian Andersen and the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Niels Bohr are honored. We visit Jens Olsen's World Clock, with its exact calibration, in the lower portion of the Town Hall Tower. Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Houses both a stunning classical collection and, somewhat incongruously, an assemblage of Danish impressionist and postimpressionist art. The building itself is a work of art and merits a visit (the central palm garden with murmuring fountains was cleverly designed to offer museum visitors a place to relax). The simple interior of the Arctic Cathedral gives prominence to a triangular stained-glass window filling an entire wall. Take the optional excuriosn to the Polar Museum and the Polaria centre to explore Arctic life over the centuries. These are complemented by modern shops and cafés just minutes from our cabins.

Day 7: Honningsvåg - North CapeAfter an early call at Hammerfest arrive in Honningsvåg, the largest fishing village in Finnmark, and doorway to the wonders of the spectacular North Cape, mainland Europe’s northernmost point at 71º north. An optional excursion to the North Cape is available all year round. North Cape is a cape on the island of Magerøya in northern Norway, in the municipality of Nordkapp. Its 307 m high, steep cliff is often referred to as the northernmost point of Europe.

Day 8: Kirkenes - Cruise ends flight back to Oslo

The vistas become more dramatic as the ship approaches the finale of the northbound voyage here in the far reaches of Europe. Benefiting from the warm currents of the Gulf Stream, this region is rich in sea life, and the coast is largely ice free in winter allowing ships access to most harbours. Soon we reach Kirkenes, from where the emotive border with Russia a few kilometres away or the Sami communities of Northern Finland may be visited. Here the ship bids farewell to passengers and take the flight to reach Oslo. On arrival in Oslo, we transfer you to hotel where you relax for the day.

Day wise travel itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Oslo- Transfer to hotel- Oslo Sightseeing

On arrival in Oslo, we provide you transfer by Airport Coach to reach your hotel. The port town of Oslo is the capital of Norway Oslo cele-brated its 1000 year anniversary in the year 2000. Until 1814, it was known as Christiania after the Danish-Norwegian king. The city is beautifully situated at the head of Oslo Fjord surrounded by forested ridges, and this very lo-cation gives Oslo unexpected qualities for a national capital. Start the day long Oslo tour which allows you to see all of Oslo’s main attractions at your own pace and convenience, with the freedom to take a break from your tour at any time to explore a sight further, or maybe go for lunch or shopping. Explore the Royal Palace, the City Hall, the Aker-shus fortress. Spend some time on the controversial Vigeland

Sculpture park.

Day 2: Flight to Kirkenes - Coastal Voyage startsAfter breakfast we transfer you to Oslo airport for your flight to Kirkenes. Just 10 kilometres from the Russian border, Kirkenes is one of Europe’s most remote outposts. It has fewer than 10,000 inhabitants-but its airport handles around 100, 000 passengers a year. Mining, saw mills and catering for the Russian fishing fleet all help to keep the vibrant little town alive. Each port on the way south has its own beauty as spring and summer flowers give way to autumn leaves and berries, melting snows form fresh waterfalls and glaciers reflect the rays of the sun.

Day 3: Hammerfest - TromsøHammerfest, the world’s most northerly town boldly claims to be the first in Europe to have electric street lighting. Starting point of Bill Bryson’s journey described in "Neither Here Nor There", this is the first major call. Continuing south, our night stop at Tromsø offers the opportunity to enjoy an optional excursion; the Arctic Cathedral. The church is a masterpiece of

architecture, designed to reflect the nature, culture and faith in the Arctic regions. Its spires are said to represent the 11 apostles left after the betrayal. The entire east wall is formed by one of the largest stained-glass windows in Europe.

Day 4: Lofoten Islands - Trollfjord - SvolværThe memorable sights of the Lofoten Islands will stay with us forever as the ship meanders gently through this stunning network of inlets and isles. It is possible to explore inland here by opting for the overland excursion from Harstad and rejoining the ship in Sortland. Moving on we reach what is the highlight of the voyage for many, where we hope to make a detour into spectacular Trollfjord. As we venture into this dramatic fjord, we stand in awe of the Captain’s prowess and skills of navigation, for the sheer sides of the cliffs seem close enough to touch. Site of a famous battle between local fishermen and wealthy ship owners in 1890, and the echoes of this dramatic history seem to reverberate from Trollfjord’s gnarled rock stone walls. Sailing through the beautiful, mountainous island chains, rising to 1,000 metres in places, we can see fishermen’s cabins built on stilts along the waterfront, whilst in the air around us fly a wide variety of seabirds such as puffins, kittiwakes, cormorants and sea eagles. This remarkable day is completed with an evening return to Svolvær and a farewell to the islands at Stamsund.

Day 5: Arctic Circle - Seven Sisters MountainThere is further excitement today as the ship crosses the Arctic Circle. Sailing past the famed peaks of the dancing Seven Sisters mountain range, folklore merges with the facts of nature - look out for Torghatten, which still bears the hole made by Hestmannen’s arrow in one of Norway’s popular legends. The award-winning new museum at Rørvik celebrates the important part the sea has played in defining today’s Norway.

Day 6: Trondheim - Molde - ÅlesundWe have an early arrival in the fascinating medieval city of Trondheim. The voyage continues out of the Trondheimsfjord past Hitra Island to make brief calls at Kristiansund and Molde, known as the City of Roses and surrounded by 87 snow-capped mountains, before the midnight call at Ålesund and a last night at sea.

Day 7: Arrival in Bergen

The landscape becomes increasingly lush as the journey weaves through the islets and beautiful Bergen comes into view.  Arrive in Bergen early afternoon and disembark after brunch. Spend some time to discover parallel rows of wooden buildings front the harbor at Bryggen Wharf, the medieval waterfront district in Bergen, the Fish Market and a short ride on floibanen funicular train for a spectacular view of Bergen. Stay overnight in Bergen

Day 8: Train to Oslo and departureAfter breakfast take the spectacular train journey to reach Oslo. Relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. On reaching Oslo, we provide you transfer using Airport Coach to the airport for your onward destination.
