The mission of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce is to provide leadership and promote the economic advancement, business climate and quality of life for the City of Sylacauga and surrounding areas.

Plans for Phase One of a very exciting multi-phase project is underway for the property located between Broadway and Norton Avenue in Sylacauga (across from Blue Bell Creameries). As a valued Chamber Member, you know that this property is often used for various functions throughout the year. A committee has been formed to improve this lot in order to make it a more enjoyable and multi-use property for our city!

Many may remember the old train depot that formerly occupied this lot. So, in an effort to both honor our history and revitalize our downtown district, a concept has been drawn by Mrs. Jean Peters for a pavilion/stage structure resembling the train depot, to be built to meet our modern needs. The structure will be used as a stage for special events and as a shelter or pavilion for everyday use. Along with the structure, Phase One includes basic landscaping of the property. Future phases may include restroom facilities, concession area, walking track, etc. Representatives from both the Historical Society and the Beautification Council have reviewed the plans and have given their approval. The Planning Commission has also approved these plans. We hope that you, too, will find the concept to be an exciting one for our community!

We are excited to have already begun receiving commitments for funding Phase One of the project! Blue Bell has already committed $50,000 to the project, along with $1,100 from Kiwanis and $1,000 contributions from Rotary, Jim Preuitt and SouthFirst Bank. NOW WE NEED YOU and Chamber Members like you… who are committed to our community and its social and economic development.

Please consider making a donation to this project. All contributions are appreciated. Contributions at the Patron Level & above will be permanently recognized at the park:

PLATINUM $50,000 GOLD $25,000 SILVER $10,000 BRONZE $5,000 PATRON $1,000 OTHER $___________

Please make your contribution payable to: Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce Post Office Box 185 Sylacauga, AL 35150

Your dedication to Sylacauga is greatly appreciated... We hope that you will take time to review the project further or speak with a

representative about helping us bring this vision to fruition!
