Peter and Paul, and the First Martyrs of the Church of Rome. The theme of this year's Fortnight will focus on the freedom to serve the poor and vulnerable in accord with human dignity and the Church's teaching.

Ramadan Family Gathering
On Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 8:15 pm, the Williams Suite will be the setting for a dinner observing the Islamic feast of Ramadan. This will be the fourth gathering at Notre Dame. To be a part of this meaningful interfaith experience, please call the Parish Office 973-226-0979 or email [email protected] as soon as possible. The religious spirit of my father, who passed away last fall, will continue with me, and to my children, and
the generations ahead. On this earth, my wonderful father spoke in parables, and indirectly, had the verbal
resolutions to any situation at hand. For me, as a novice father, I have absorbed the spiritual and genetic
blueprint handed over, which I deeply value. Eagerly, I share with you the many great qualities of my
father, and it would be unfair to withhold his words and his spiritual-guided vision, as the father he was on
earth.
“My Father’s Commandments”
1) No one should ever eat alone.
(every meal is a celebration and you should enjoy the company)
2) In blessing, and prior to EVERY meal, pour and serve yourself last in appreciation.
(you are grateful, humble, and willing to serve others before yourself)
3) Before a special event or occasion, ALWAYS tell your mother she looks beautiful.
(the message is initiated by the father, then to their children, and then to their mother)
4) NEVER raise your tone, or voice, in front of your father, or anyone else.
(everything can be resolved through the words of the bible)
5) ALWAYS make an attempt to connect, with your father/guardian, every day,
(This serves as access to immediate gratification).
6) Make it a habit to arrive at every mass celebration 15 – 20 minutes earlier.
(you will learn to appreciate more in good faith)
7) Pray for someone different, someone you do not personally know each day
(openly drawing you closer to God)
8) Rather than "I will pray for them" in verbal passing, say “I have them in my heart.”
(find a deeper sense of prayer)
9) NEVER CHEAT when playing cards.
(exemplifies a piece of your personality)
10) "Facilitate" the word of God.
(increase the opportunities for unity)
Sincerely and with Love,
Jose Luis Blanco
