Qualified, aircraft-operating readersof EBAN from around Europe andthe Middle East have once againbeen busy casting their votes todetermine their favourite FBOs.

This year for the first time weasked them to rank the facilities theyhave flown through recently by fourdifferent criteria; the usual facilities,service and staff, but now also byvalue-for-money.

The average scores are shown in

the table (right) and represent a realshake up since 2010. Single locationhandlers have fared well, taking thetop four places, but Europe’s largestchain Signature also received highscores for its Southampton andMunich facilities.

There is a good geographicalspread among the top-rated FBOs,but it is significant that the top threeare all locations which might expecthigh levels of private/leisure traffic.

We report on some of the winnershere, and in the following pages wedetail the facilities on offer aroundthe continent.

We have included listings for allthose which responded to our manyrequests for information, and wealso offer basic information aboutevery handler on our web site atwww.handbook.aero.

Between April 2010 and Januarythis year our voters were able to rank

any number of FBOs – some againproviding scores for over thirty! We’dlike to express our thanks to all thosewho took part for creating such arevealing snapshot of the industry.

We asked for a score out of ninefor each of the four categories. To dowell, an FBO must have goodinfrastructure, meet every customerneed, have highly trained andmotivated people and deliver good value.

How the FBO Feedbacksystem worksIn order to ensure that the votingsystem is fair and that every EBANreader has the opportunity to votefor their favourite FBOs, eachaircraft-operating reader wasprovided with a personalised webpage as well as forms on ourmagazine mailing sheets, on whichto cast votes.

To be eligible for inclusion onthe rankings table, each FBO had toaccrue at least point seven of oneper cent of the total votes cast,thereby minimising statisticalaberrations. Although the highranking handling agents deserverecognition for their excellentresults, there were many FBOswhich simply did not receive a high enough proportion of the votes to become eligible for inclusion.
