on 1 March, 2015. Japan is hosting WorldScout Jamboree in August, 2015.

Two days Sociolympics, a mixed-activityyouth event, was organized as a pilotpartnership project between the

Ambassador's Youth Council, PUAN fromUS Embassy and Pakistan Boy ScoutsAssociation on 14 and 15 March 2015 atbeautiful campsite of NHQ. USA and PBSAteams were comprised of 40 memberseach, whereas each team was based on 20boys and 20 girls.The activities of the event were planned

KhoKho, PittuGaram & Kite Flying.Creative activities comprised of ShortSkits, Singing (English & Urdu) and LudoBoard Game. Academic activities coveredD e b a t e ( E n g l i s h & U r d u ) a n dDumsharades whereas a cultural showwas also organized focusing on culturalattire of Punjabi, Pathan, Sindhi & Balochi.All the activities of sports, creativity,academic and cultural show were

beautifully planned and organized by theAmbassador's Youth Council Islamabadand Pakistan US Alumni Network underthe leadership of Mr. Zeeshan in closecoordination with Ms Gulshan Batool.Both team members, especially the girlsplayed a vital role in the success of thisevent. Everyone played and participateddevotedly. All the competitors were highlycharged and feeling joy. The viewers alsoboosted their teams by chanting anddancing on the beats of drum.

Country Cultural Attache, USA, Ms LauraDjuragic, Dy. Cultural Affairs Attache, Mr.Neal Murata, Press Officer, Mr. JamesCerven, Cultural Affairs Attache besidesorganizing officials of US Embassy andsenior scout officials of NHQ & Provinces.

The closing ceremony was held in thePakistan National Library. Medals and

Certificates were awarded to the winnersand the participants of the event by Ms.Judith Ravin, Country Cultural Attache,USA. PBSA was declared Champion on thebasis of overall performance and scores.After the closing ceremony impressivemusical performance was put on show bythe participants of the event from bothsides.

TREE PLANTATION - CDAThe Capital Development Authority (CDA)on Thursday launched 'Green IslamabadCampaign' to pay tribute to the martyrs of

Army Public School Peshawar and enrichgreen beauty of the federal capital.CDA Chairman, Maroof Afzal inauguratedthe campaign by planting in sector D-12while large number of people from allwalks of life participated in the tree drive.

Earlier, CDA Member EnvironmentMu stafa in Ka zm i we lcom e d t h eparticipants, specially Scouts & Guidesmore than 100 Scouts participated in theCampaign and planted the tree. He saidthe CDA also displayed a sign board with

names of APS martyrs students at thevenue, adding that all the trees would benamed at APS martyrs at this premises.

PAKISTAN - BEING SECOND PILOTPROJECT FOR SOLARSun for fun activities were organized on

Syeda Kanza Kanwal from Sindh Boy ScoutsAssociation, a first girl of Pakistan who

awarded with the title of “President RoverScout” for the year 2015 from Pakistan BoyScouts Association. Mr. Siddique Memon,Provincial Commissioner of Sindh BoyScouts Association, Prof. Moin AzharSiddique, Member National Council, PBSAawarded her with applets of PresidentRover Scout of Pakistan. ProvincialSecretary of Sindh BSA Syed Akhtar wasalso present on the occasion.

A weekend Scouting Camp for specialscouts was jointly organized by RegionalScouts Headquarters Multan and SocietyScouts open Group from 27-28 March,2015 at Regional Scouts HeadquartersMultan.

Somepersons representing different NGOs alsovisited the camp.Mr. Asif Ali Farrukh, Additional Director,M.D.A. was the Chief Guest. Speakersappreciated the efforts and hard work ofRover Asif as he was the only player fromSouth Punjab to be selected in first evercricket team of such nature. Rover AsifIqbal presented his national kit for theoffice of Society Scouts Open Group forSpecial Persons, Multan.

WALK AGAINST CORRUPTIONOn 10 March, 2015;President MamnoonHussain led a walk against corruptiontitled “Say No to Corruption” at Aiwan-e-Sadr.Federal Ministries, parliamentarians,Ambassadors, senior officers of Aiwan-e-Sadr and National Accountability Bureau(NAB), children from various schools,teachers and 100 Scouts also participatedin the walk. The Participants were carryingplay cards bearing anit-corruptionslogans.

The walk was aimed at demonstratingsupport in fighting corruption across allsectors of society and to raise publicawareness against this curse, added thePresident. The President said thatcorruption poses great threat to the veryfabric of society and urged all tocontribute their share in combating thiscrime.
