I also design original fabric lines for Moda with my friend Linda Brannock and occasionally by myself. Our most recent fabric line was Lilac Hill that shipped to stores in March. I love making quilts - it's what I do. And I don’t want to make quilts and put them in a closet. I want to provide a creative outlet for others. July 12thJan Patek—”Basics of Needleturn Applique” The “Cedar Creek Kit” costs $25.00 and the class costs $25.00 for a total of $50.0 0 for each participant. You may register and pay as late as our next meeting on July 11. Supply List: freeze r paper, rotary cutter and rulers, drawing and fabric marking pencils, Richard Hemming Milliner needles (size 9), appliqué thread, sandpaper board, and sewing supp lies (thimble, p aper and fabric pencils, and scis sors. Jan will bring fabric pencils, needles, and s andpaper boards that you can purch ase. The workshop will run from 10:0 0 to 3:00 at St. Paul’s UMC. The PAQG Newsletter has a new email!!! August 1st — Darlene LeachGraduated from OSU with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Home Economics. My sister, Joyce Rigsby and I opened The Quilting Post in Perkins , Okla. in 2000 and retired from it in 2008. I taught many sew ing classes and workshops be cause that is what I love to do. My greatist satisfacti on is seeing people gain confidence in their sewing ability and love it as much as I do. August 2nd—Darlene Leach Workshop- Quilted Sweatshirt Jacket. Cost is $15.00 plus sup- plies. Supply List: one sweatshi rt with se t in sleeves - should be your reg ular size or 1 size lar- ger. Be sure to pre wash. The sweatshirt for this pattern will act as your lining so pi ck a color that matches your focal fabric. Main focal fabric - 2 1/4 yds—Prairie point F abric - 1 1/4 yds— Contrasting background Prairie Point Fabric - 1/3 yd—binding Fabric - 1/2 yd—Thread to match bind- ing fabric—Thread to match sweatshirt — Contrasting thread for decorative stitching on prairie point background fabric—Stabilizer (very small strip 4" x 36") - Chalk pencil—Beads for prairie points—Sewing machine , cutting mat, ruler , rotary cutter, pins, scissors, iron, ironing board, needle to sew beads on with.

Stitch and Assist will be at 10:30 and 11:00.

Norma Casad sharing the quilt she and her husband re-ceived from their four children as a 35th wedding anniver-sary gift in 1989. Each child took a fourth of the quilt andcreated their memories of home. The children also incorpo-rated a form of a family tree within the blocks of the quilt.

The senior citizens of Norma’s hometown of Dustin, OKhand quilted the quilt.

Fundraising Project Report

The fundraising project for the year 2012has been selected and approved by theBoard. The project chair is Judy Poole.

The title of the quilt is Rose of Sharonfrom Leisure Arts Encyclopedia of ClassicQuilt Patterns. The quilt is an adaptationof an antique quilt. It upholds the tradi-tion of heirloom quilts with all blocks handappliquéd and when completed will be ma-chine quilted. It is made with 12 blocksmeasuring 20” x 20” each making a fin-ished quilt size of 90” x 110” including bor-

ders. Three blocks are already completeand will be shown at the July meeting.

Fundraising Report by Sue Roye are off to a good start with ticket sales on our Fund-ising Quilt, "Welcome Home." We sold $256 worthtickets. I think that is a fabulous way to start our lling season. We need to remember that I cannot giveaccurate account of the number of tickets since we

e selling 6/$5. I can only count the amount of money.
