    FIRST SEM ARA FORMS READY

    Ever since, HCECi follows the mandate of DepEd with

    regards to the GUIDELINES in the SELECTION of HONORPUPILS/STUDENTS of THE BASIC EDUCATIONCURRICULUM wherein Candidates for Honors whoperformed at a certain set standards, for this school year,those who perform at the ADVANCED LEVEL (90% andabove for general average) in any quarter must not get atrue grade not lower than 88 in any learning / subject area.

    And to determine the top achievers, pupils shall be rankedusing the 7-3 point scheme ( 7 points for academic

    performance and 3 points for co-curricular activities in

    HCECi, our ARA points ) as contained in Enclosure No.1 to DepEd Order No. 74, s. 2012, dated September 6,2012.

    Transferees shall be considered in the ranking providedthey were enrolled not later than the second week of thecurrent school year.

    CO-CURRICULAR PERFORMANCEARA Performance

    Co-Curricular performance covers the achievement of thecandidates at all levels (classroom-based, school, district,division, regional, national and international) in the followingareas:

    1. Contests and Competitions (CC),2. Student Leadership (SL),3. Campus Journalism (CJ),4. Officership and Membership (OM),5. Participation or Attendance (PA), and,6. Community Service or Special Projects (CS/SP).

    GUIDELINES in ACCOMPLISHING THEARA FORM for ALL LEVELS (Gr. 1-9)

    Effective school year 2012-2013, all pupils/studentsof HCECi will personally accomplish the ARAForm prepared by the Office of the Student Affairs(OSA).o ARA Form contains all the activities for the term

    or semester. All the pupils have to do is to

    identify which activity they have joined bywriting one of the following: Participant, or Member, or Finalist First (1st), Second (2nd), Third (3rd), Fourth

    (4th) After accomplishing the ARA Form, pupils are

    required to present and submit certified true copiesof all documentary and evidentiary requirements oftheir co-curricular achievements, except when theARA participation is of public knowledge ( in mostcases, activities fall herein).

    The ARA Points will then be validated by thementor, coach, validating officer, and/or adviserthrough their signature.

    Get the SUB-total ARA points for the term /semester by adding all points regardless of thenumber of valid co-curricular achievements in allareas/activities.

    Pupils must secure PARENTS SIGNATURE asconforme of the data presented in the ARA Form.Once signed, parents agree and waive anycomplaints regarding the accuracy of the entries in

    the form. Pupils now submit the form to the respective Class

    Advisers for checking and verification purposes.Once checked and verified, pupils seek OSA(Office of the student affairs) heads signature forAPPROVAL.

    The Office of the Student Affairs now keeps theForm which will later be used during thedeliberation of Year-Ender Honor Pupils.

    Follow the schedule of the submission of ARAForms. Accomplish the ARA Form in one-week time

    after release. NO EXTENSION of DUE DATES willbe given to late ARA forms. Once submitted late,the Office of the Student Affairsreserves the rights to reject orrefuse ARA Forms for non-adherence to the policyregarding submission on formon due dates. Hence, pupils getZERO points. Immediate dissemination

    and strict compliance with this

    set of guidelines is directed. For clarification andquestions regarding ARA(Academic-Related Activities),please set an appointment tothe OSA through the secretaryduring Office Hours only.

    GUIDELINES on the SEGREGATION

    and DISPOSAL of WASTE in HCECi

    To : All Personnel, HCECi Parents, Guardiansand Students

    In view of the implementation of Republic Act 9003

    or The Solid Waste Management Act of 200and the recently implemented Iriga City Ordinanceon waste segregation, all HCECi communitymembers are hereby advised to strictly enforce thefollowing guidelines on waste segregation in theclassrooms, offices and in the campus as a whole.

    1. All waste materials or garbage shall be sortedinto 3 categories with corresponding trash bin,following this classification:

    (1) DRY Non-biodegradable. Those for saleat the junk shops:

    Plastic bottles (e.g. Lipton tea, C2, etc); drypapers; soft drinks cans; bottles; metals;newspapers. (GRAY TRASH BIN)

    (2) DI-NALULUPA. Non-biodegradable.plastic straw; plastic used for softdrinks or

    juices; wrappers of candy, junk foods,sachets, etc.; Styrofoam (BLUE TRASHBIN w/out COVER.)

    (3) NALULUPA. Biodegradable /Compostable.food waste (peelings, leftovers, vegetabletrims, fish/fowl entrails,innards/washings,

    soft shells, bone, hair, feathers); gardenwaste (leaves, twigs, weeds); animal waste(manure, carcass); and, human waste(feces, dirty wipes, pads, etc.) (BLUETRASH BIN with COVER)

    2. For waster material (1) inside the classroomand offices. Turn these over to the SPG(supreme pupil government) for their project,while those in the campus, the gray trash bin isfor waste material (1).

    3. For the High School, the green trash bin

    (courtesy of the SSG Chairman on Cleanliness)will be for waste material (2). The gradeschoolat the 2nd floor will utilize the green trash binwith cover for waste material (2).

    4. Since eating during recess time and lunch timeis done at the MPC, trash bin (Blue with Cover)for waste material (3) especially leftover food

    will just be out near the MPC. There is noneed for it along the corridors.

    5. The big blue trash bins without cover which aresituated along the corridors (1st floor GradeSchool Bldg) are for waste material (2).

    6. Waste segregation has taken effect sinceOctober 1, 2012.

    Rationale : In support of Holy Child EducationalCenter, Inc.s quest to embrace the 21

    stCentury

    Challenges for a life-long connection towards

    excellence, the Mathematics Department proposes thisproject to give opportunity to students in enhancing their

    skills in the field of Mathematics by providing themintensive review and enrichment training sessions.

    Objectives : Mathematics Department prepares andtrains any HCECians for Math Challenge or any mathcompetitions. This project aims to meet the following

    end results:

    1. To enhance pupils math skills/knowledge to beadequately prepared for any math challenges or

    competitions;2. To provide avenues for mastery of basic and

    advance arithmetic skills;

    3. To promote analytical, critical, and other higherorder thinking skills through solving challengingand realistic math problems;

    4. Equip the pupils with tips and helpful techniquesin answering math questions with speed andaccuracy.

    GUIDELINES & MECHANICS :

    1. Interested HCECians need to accomplish the pre-registration forms given in the previous issues of

    the Parents Bulletin.2. Enrolment Fee is to be paid at the Cashiers

    Office.

    3. Present the receipt of payment to the level mathtrainer / program coordinator (Mdm. Elen

    Oafallas) for enlistment.

    4. Attend the seven-Saturday training sessions.5. Learn and earn extra ARA points.6. Present a valid, excuse letter once trainee cannot

    attend in one of the sessions. Absences andexcuses are counted within the duration of the

    training. Take-home modules will be given to

    those who will be excused or absent.

    First Saturday Session starts this

    GRADERS SCIENCE COMPETITION

    Six 6th graders competed for the 1st Sixth GradersScience Competitions of the Nabua National HighSchool Science Department which was held lastOctober 4, 2012 at the said school. Four of themsecured a coveted place for being the second topscorer from among the 15 elementary schools that

    2nd PLACERS, SCIENCE QUIZ

    BENJOHN TOMBADOON-THE-SPOT PAINTING

    2nd PLACER

    Two other sixth graders participated in the POSTER

    MAKING CONTEST. They were: FRANCIS VINCENTPRAXIDES and DEXTER RAMOS. Other events,where no HCEC-participants were sent, wereCollage/Scrap Art Making Contest, Logo Making, andElementary Sci-Dama.

    With all these achievements, HCEC placed FIRSTRUNNER-UP OVER-ALL in the First 6 th GradersScience Competition of NNHS. This is in pursuant tothe Presidential Proclamation No. 264, s. 2002, the

    month of September declared as the NationalScience Club Month.

    The delegation was headed by the Science SubjectArea Head, MR. ROLANDO BANCASO and thewinning-coach, science teacher, MR. DOMINICO T.BAGACINA.

    Last Friday, September 28, 2012, the First Term TopAchievers from Grades 2-9 were given recognitionand awards after the Culminating Activity of theLiteracy Month Celebration.
