From Your Pastor’s Pen My Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
As we feared the Corona Virus had the last laugh and Bishop Tim and I had to cancel our much expected trip to India
to bless the “Benziger Home” for the sick. For me it means I have to wait again to have a cup of tea with my beloved
mum. Well, I am not terribly disappointed and I believe that God has a plan behind everything that happens in our life
and that is for our good. However, my mum is deeply disappointed as she had been waiting to meet me with great
expectation and excitement. Bishop Tim has sent a special message to be read out on the occasion of the blessing of
Benziger Home which was on last Friday. He has also promised to visit Trivandrum in the near future as the situation
created by the virus threat gets better. It has also come to my attention that some of you have made your generous
contribution towards Benziger Home and I thank you most sincerely for the same and invoke God’s blessings upon you
for your generosity.
On another note, I also want to thank you all sincerely for joining the different ministries in our parish. Like I mentioned,
doing small services for love of God through the ministries in the parish is our way of spreading the light of Christ and
thanking him for all the many blessings we enjoy in our life. However, we are really short of volunteers for cleaning up
the church, money counting and grounds maintenance. Can any of you please join any of these ministries which will
be a great help to the parish. You don’t have to do it every day but only on the rostered Saturdays or Sundays. I hope
some of you will respond to my special request and I thank you in anticipation.
Next weekend we have Gifting Sunday in our parish, that one time in a year when we ask our valued parishioners to
make your pledge to the parish. Please come prepared and be generous in your contribution to the parish as you
always are.
In His Love, Your Fr. John
