Congratulations Rob Sgambelluri On June 10, Bishop Paprocki received Rob into the Deacon Candidacy Program which is the first level of the Deacon Program. As part of his training, Rob has been meeting with Fr. John regularly & serving at mass and assisting at the celebration of other sacraments/sacramental. He also helps out with many youth and other programs in the parish including a facilitator of our Protecting God’s Children sessions. Thank you Rob for your service and vocation. Congratulations Rob Sgambelluri On June 10, Bishop Paprocki received Rob into the Deacon Candidacy Program which is the first level of the Deacon Program. As part of his training, Rob has been meeting with Fr. John regularly & serving at mass and assisting at the celebration of other sacraments/sacramental. Deacon Frank Ice Cream Social Want to cool off? Come to the Deacon Frank Ice Cream Social on July 14. TEAM is sponsoring this summer annual event in memory of our late Deacon Frank Maynerich. It’s a great time to visit with other parishioners and get to know some that you haven’t met. This year the Ice Cream Social will be connected with our parish potluck the same evening after the 4:30PM mass. Watch for further details, but put it on your calendar now!

Bible Study Thank You Thank you so much to Pam Branham who led our “Mary, a Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother” Bible Study and to Randy Cates who just completed leading the “Book of Philippians” Bible Study. Both have given some of our parishioners the opportunity to grow in their understanding of the Scriptures and to pray with the Scriptures. God bless you and your families, Pam and Randy! After we have taken a break, watch for the next forthcoming bible study topic.

Dominican Faith Camp LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP - Space is limited. Girls entering grades 6-9 are invited to join the Dominican Sisters for Faith Camp at Sacred Heart Convent in Springfield, July 8-10. Campers will enjoy traditional camp activities in a welcoming and safe Catholic Environment. They will learn about Dominican life by spending time with a “Sister Buddy” who will share her own vocation story. Cost is $50. July 23-27. Open to all children age 4 (by 9/1/2018) to present grade level 4 (entering grade 5). Registration will end on July 1, so reserve your family’s spot today!

VBS is $10 per family.

July 1 - Last day to register for Vacation Bible School and last day for early registration for Faith Formation. After this date, fees will double for Faith Formation.

Come Join Our Island Fun VBS Adult Volunteers Needed The planning is underway for our Vacation Bible School Program ~ Shipwrecked; Rescued by Jesus. We are still in need of an assistant leader for Games. If you are interested in joining a wonderful team of people and impacting the youth of our parish, please contact Janice Anderson in the church office ASAP!

Faith Formation Registration Registration for the 2018/2019 Faith Formation year has been underway since April. Early registration continues through July 1. Currently, fees are $30 for one child and $60 for two or more. After July 1st, registration fees will double. Time is running short, please get your forms turned in soon to avoid the added cost.

Let's Go Bowling!!! All St. Joe's youth, levels 6 through 12 (including recent 5th grade graduates) are invited to bowl with us following the 10:30 Mass on Sunday, June 24th. We'll plan to leave at about 12:45PM and carpool to Virden's Showtime Lanes. Then we'll bowl, play laser tag, and eat pizza. We should return to church at approximately 3:00PM. Chaperones needed.

Restored Order at St Joe’s As you have heard by now, the Springfield Diocesan Synod passed the vote to move Confirmation back to its original order, which means that (in our parish) by the year 2022, all children in level 3 will receive Confirmation and First Communion at the same Mass. Our three year transition plan was well thought out and now ready to implement. If you haven’t seen it, please check our website under Formation/Faith Formation Information.

First Communion & Confirmation Photo Pick-Up Please make arrangements to pick up your First Communion/Confirmation photos from this past year ASAP. The church office is open Monday-Friday, 8:30-4pm or they can be left outside the office for pick up over the weekend, by contacting Janice Anderson in advance. These young faces are precious and you don’t want to be without them!
